KWS SAAT SE in Einbeck, Germany, is seeking a Plant Cell Biologist (m/f/d) to join our Doubled Haploid Research Unit on a full-time, initially 2-year fixed-term contract.

You will contribute to cutting-edge cell biology and haploid induction research, working in modern laboratories on single-cell regeneration systems, developing regeneration protocols from donor tissues, supervising staff, and delivering reports and results to customers and reviewers as part of a collaborative team advancing

Qualifikationen

We are seeking a highly motivated Plant Cell Biologist (m/f/d) to join our Doubled Haploid Research Unit at KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA in Einbeck, Germany, on a full-time basis for an initially 2-year fixed-term contract.

With a strong focus on research in the areas of cell biology and haploid induction, this position contributes to the development of innovative doubled haploid technologies. As part of a team of cell and molecular biologists, you will work in our modern laboratories with a focus on single cell-based regeneration systems, developing regeneration protocols based on haploid cells derived from different donor tissues and helping to advance next-generation doubled haploid technologies.

Your field of activity and responsibility
  • Setting up regeneration protocols for haploid induction via androgenesis.
  • Monitoring and evaluating greenhouse-grown donor material, ensuring high-quality starting material.
  • Designing and implementing experiments.
  • Performing substantial hands-on work in the laboratory.
  • Supervising staff and coordinating research activities within the timelines of a fixed project plan.
  • Generating reports and presenting results to customers and reviewers.
Bring in your strengths
  • Master's degree or PhD in Biology, Agriscience or a related discipline relevant to this area of responsibility.
  • Great interest, creativity and initiative in developing innovative technologies.
  • Experience in plant cell cultures and haploid induction via methods of androgenesis and/or gynogenesis.
  • Basic knowledge in molecular plant biology.
  • Experience in donor plant growth under greenhouse conditions is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team for collaborative success.
  • Demonstrated ability to directly contribute solutions and innovation to overcome obstacles.
  • Good communication skills with internal team members and external partners.
  • Ability to communicate and write clearly, concisely and accurately in English; basic German knowledge is advantageous.
