Scope of the role

As Operations Manager, you will assume responsibility for the end to end manufacturing process, adherence to production deadlines and quality standards at Mercury’s Prefabrication & Offsite manufacturing facilities. Located in Newbridge, Ireland and Schoenebeck, Germany there is potential for the manufacturing base to further increase in near future. Working with the existing site teams at each facility, the successful applicant will oversee and integrate all aspects of production, from systems implementation, production scheduling, labour planning, work in progress monitoring, and issue resolution across the facilities. Depending on the successful candidate the role can be based in Mercury’s HQ in Germany or Ireland and will require some regular short duration travel to maintain positive working relationships. Roles & Responsibilities

Operations management of the OSM/Prefabrication facilities includes:

• Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, daily in the working environment.
• Overseeing daily operations including supervision, control and coordination of work processes and production sequences
• Resource management – ensuring efficient use of resources such as manpower, equipment, and materials.
• Quality Control – implementing and maintaining quality control measures to ensure fabricated items meet required standards.
• Team Management – leading and managing a tam of workshop supervisors, including daily/weekly reporting including all training and development of the team.
• Problem Solving – addressing any issues that arise in the workshop/factory floor and make strategic decisions to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Inventory Management - Monitoring inventory levels and ensuring timely procurement of materials
• Maintenance – scheduling and overseeing equipment maintenance to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
• Co-ordination - Liaising with other departments to ensure smooth operations and meet project requirements.
• Client interaction - interacting with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions and estimates.
• Working independently and on own responsibility in day-to-day business and special tasks.

Criteria

• Minimum of 5-7 year’s work experience in a similar role.
• Third level qualification in an Engineering/Construction/Production or Manufacturing based subject.
• Ability to work well under pressure and within a strict deadline environment.
• Strong safety and quality consciousness
• Proven ability to develop innovative solutions for increased productivity.
• Lean principles / Six Sigma black belt certification an advantage.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills, demonstrated by previous professional success.
• PC literate with strong competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
• Bi-lingual - German and English Language would be an advantage.
• Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legislative guidelines
• Experience with MRP – Material Requirement Planning
• Working knowledge of mechanical plant systems, ventilation systems, process and high purity pipework, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

Aufgabenbereich

Als Operations Manager übernehmen Sie die Verantwortung für den gesamten Fertigungsprozess, die Einhaltung von Produktionsfristen sowie die Qualitätsstandards in den Prefabrication- und Offsite-Manufacturing-Einrichtungen von Mercury. Diese befinden sich in Newbridge (Irland) und Schönebeck (Deutschland), mit Potenzial für eine weitere Expansion in naher Zukunft. In Zusammenarbeit mit den bestehenden Teams an beiden Standorten überwachen und integrieren Sie sämtliche Produktionsaspekte – von der Systemimplementierung über Produktionsplanung und Personalplanung bis hin zur Überwachung des Work-in-Progress und der Lösung von Problemen in den Einrichtungen. Je nach Kandidat kann die Position entweder am Hauptsitz von Mercury in Deutschland oder Irland angesiedelt sein und erfordert regelmäßige, kurze Dienstreisen zur Pflege positiver Arbeitsbeziehungen. Rollen & Verantwortlichkeiten

Die Operative Leitung Der OSM-/Prefabrication-Einrichtungen Umfasst

• Sicherstellung der Einhaltung aller Sicherheitsvorschriften im täglichen Arbeitsumfeld.
• Überwachung des täglichen Betriebs, einschließlich Aufsicht, Kontrolle und Koordination von Arbeitsprozessen und Produktionsabläufen.
• Ressourcenmanagement – effiziente Nutzung von Personal, Geräten und Materialien.
• Qualitätskontrolle – Implementierung und Aufrechterhaltung von Maßnahmen zur Sicherstellung, dass gefertigte Produkte den erforderlichen Standards entsprechen.
• Teamführung – Leitung und Management eines Teams von Werkstattleitern, einschließlich täglicher/wöchentlicher Berichterstattung sowie Schulung und Weiterentwicklung des Teams.
• Problemlösung – Bearbeitung von Problemen in der Werkstatt/Produktion und Treffen strategischer Entscheidungen zur Verbesserung von Effizienz und Produktivität.
• Bestandsmanagement – Überwachung der Lagerbestände und Sicherstellung der rechtzeitigen Beschaffung von Materialien.
• Wartung – Planung und Überwachung der Gerätewartung zur Sicherstellung optimaler Leistung und Produktivität.
• Koordination – Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Abteilungen, um reibungslose Abläufe sicherzustellen und Projektanforderungen zu erfüllen.
• Kundenkontakt – Austausch mit Kunden, um deren Anforderungen zu verstehen und Lösungen sowie Kostenschätzungen bereitzustellen.
• Selbstständiges Arbeiten und eigenverantwortliche Durchführung von Tagesgeschäft und Sonderaufgaben.

Anforderungen

• Mindestens 5–7 Jahre Berufserfahrung in einer vergleichbaren Position.
• Hochschulabschluss in einem ingenieurwissenschaftlichen, bautechnischen, produktions- oder fertigungsbezogenen Fachgebiet.
• Fähigkeit, unter Druck und in einem strikten Terminumfeld effektiv zu arbeiten.
• Ausgeprägtes Sicherheits- und Qualitätsbewusstsein.
• Nachweisliche Fähigkeit, innovative Lösungen zur Steigerung der Produktivität zu entwickeln.
• Kenntnisse in Lean-Prinzipien / Six Sigma; Black Belt von Vorteil.
• Hervorragende organisatorische Fähigkeiten sowie Kommunikations- und Führungsstärke, belegt durch berufliche Erfolge.
• Sicherer Umgang mit Microsoft Word, Excel und Outlook.
• Zweisprachigkeit (Deutsch und Englisch) von Vorteil.
• Fundierte Kenntnisse der branchenspezifischen Vorschriften und gesetzlichen Richtlinien.
• Erfahrung mit MRP (Material Requirement Planning).
• Praktische Kenntnisse in mechanischen Anlagen, Lüftungssystemen, Prozess- und Reinstrohrleitungen sowie Heizungs-, Lüftungs- und Klimatechnik (HLK/HVAC).
