Frazer-Nash Consultancy is seeking a Nuclear Safety Case Consultant to deliver safety-critical analyses across civil and defence nuclear projects. You will develop strategies, perform HAZID/HAZOP tasks, assess hazards, and author safety-related documentation for diverse clients in the UK.

Nuclear Safety Case Consultant Salary range: £45,000 to £67,000 per annum depending on experience Location: Bristol or Gloucester but will consider other FNC offices Working Pattern: We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern at Frazer-Nash, with time split between the office, client sites and working from home Closing date is 8th August 2026, but early application encouraged. At Frazer-Nash we deliver innovative engineering solutions to our clients to make lives safe, secure, sustainable and affordable. It's an exciting time to work in the nuclear industry and Frazer-Nash are involved in many projects across the whole range of nuclear facilities. We support clients in all parts of the UK civil and defence nuclear industry, as well as a variety of non-reactor, and experimental or small-scale projects. We provide technical expertise to our clients on engineering projects for the design, construction, operation, inspection, maintenance and decommissioning of nuclear facilities; much of our work is in support of the safety case, in the context of UK nuclear regulation and broader UK safety regulation and good practice. We are looking for people with applicable skills, knowledge and motivation to join our diverse team and continue to develop our capability in this area.

Essential Requirements

• Demonstrable 3+ years of experience in civil nuclear or defence nuclear, including some safety experience.
• A Degree, Master's or PhD in a relevant STEM subject.
• Good organisational skills.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn new systems quickly and adapt to the demands of different projects and client organisations.
• An appetite to continually learn, improve and stretch yourself.

Desirable Requirements

• Technical oversight; leadership; and self-directed review.
• Experience in commercial aspects and project management.
• Technical consultancy experience.
• Chartered (or working towards) with a professional institution.

Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
