Zusammenfassung

Designer Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join our project delivery team on a major data centre project in Germany. You will supervise mechanical installation works on site, coordinating directly employed teams and subcontractors to deliver safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in mechanical trades with supervisory experience, and a strong understanding of building services installation.

Qualifikationen

  • 5+ years’ mechanical trade or construction experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a Mechanical Supervisor or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical building services installation.
  • Experience supervising trades and subcontractors on active sites.
  • Good understanding of construction safety, permit-to-work systems and risk management.
  • Ability to read and work from mechanical drawings, specs and docs.
  • Strong understanding of programme, quality and installation requirements.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with project management, engineering, QA, commissioning, EHS and other disciplines.

Aufgaben

  • Supervise the day-to-day delivery of mechanical installation works on site.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager and teams to hit milestones.
  • Coordinate mechanical trades, direct labour and subcontractors.
  • Monitor progress against the programme and escalate delays.
  • Ensure safe systems of work, risk assessments, method statements and permits before activities.
  • Promote strong EHS standards and work with EHS teams to close observations.
  • Coordinate mechanical works with other MEP disciplines and the wider programme.
  • Participate in daily site coordination and planning with main contractor and stakeholders.
  • Monitor workmanship and align with QA and commissioning teams.
  • Drive a snagging approach and close punch-list items efficiently.
  • Monitor materials and draw-downs to ensure availability when required.
  • Ensure plant, equipment and access systems are used correctly.
  • Manage relevant mechanical permits to work, including hot works where applicable.
  • Ensure workers hold required training, competency records and certification.
  • Maintain site records and support project reporting.
  • Support apprentices and less-experienced team members through leadership.
  • Maintain Designer Group standards, policies and procedures.

Mechanical Supervisor – Data Centre

Location: Germany | Site-Based | Data Centre

The Role

Designer Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join our project delivery team supporting a major data centre project in Germany.

This is a site-based position suited to an experienced Mechanical Supervisor, Mechanical Site Manager or mechanical trades professional who has progressed into supervision within M&E construction, data centres, mission-critical, industrial, pharmaceutical or large-scale commercial projects.

You will take responsibility for the day-to-day supervision of mechanical installation activities, coordinating directly employed teams and subcontractors while ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme and to the required quality standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supervise the day-to-day delivery of mechanical installation works on site.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, engineering and project teams to achieve project milestones.
  • Coordinate mechanical trades, direct labour and subcontractors.
  • Monitor progress against the construction programme and escal​e potential delays or constraints.
  • Ensure safe systems of work, risk assessments, method statements and relevant permits are in place before activities commence.
  • Promote strong EHS standards and work closely with the project EHS team to close out observations and audit actions.
  • Coordinate mechanical works with other MEP disciplines and the wider construction programme.
  • Participate in daily site coordination and planning meetings with the main contractor and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor workmanship and work with the Mechanical QA and Commissioning teams to maintain high installation standards.
  • Drive a snag as we go approach and ensure punch-list items are closed efficiently.
  • Monitor materials and coordinate draw-down requirements to ensure pipework, fittings, equipment and other materials are available when required.
  • Ensure appropriate plant, equipment and access systems are being used correctly.
  • Manage relevant mechanical permits to work, including hot works where applicable.
  • Ensure subcontractors and operatives hold the appropriate site training, competency records and certification required for their activities.
  • Maintain accurate site records and support project reporting.
  • Support apprentices and less-experienced team members through effective site leadership and coaching.
  • Maintain Designer Group standards, policies and procedures throughout project delivery.
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years’ mechanical trade or construction experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a Mechanical Supervisor, Mechanical Foreman, Mechanical Site Manager or similar supervisory position.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical building services installation.
  • Experience supervising mechanical trades and subcontractors on active construction sites.
  • Good understanding of construction safety, permit-to-work systems and site risk management.
  • Ability to read and work from mechanical drawings, specifications and project documentation.
  • Strong understanding of programme, quality and installation requirements.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with project management, engineering, QA, commissioning, EHS and other construction disciplines.

Experience working on data centres, mission-critical facilities, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, industrial or other technically complex MEP projects would be highly advantageous.
