Zusammenfassung

PORR is expanding its data center activities and seeks a Mechanical Lead to manage on-site delivery of mechanical systems for a major data center project. You will oversee cooling, chilled water, piping, ventilation, CRAH/CRAC units, and plant rooms, coordinating with electrical and controls teams.

The role requires a degree in mechanical engineering and at least eight years of experience in large-scale construction, preferably in data centers or high-tech facilities.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years' mechanical construction experience on large projects.
• Experience in data center or high-tech projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cooling systems, piping, ventilation and plant installation.
• Experience managing subcontractors and vendor packages.
• Good maintainability, access, water quality, leak prevention, and BMS interfaces.

Aufgaben

• Lead mechanical works on site, including cooling systems and plant rooms.
• Coordinate mechanical subcontractors and ensure conformance with drawings and specs.
• Review drawings, procurement status and installation details.
• Coordinate plant access, lifting routes, sequences, and testing zones.
• Coordinate interfaces with electrical, BMS, controls, and fire protection teams.
• Track long‑lead equipment, testing readiness, and pre‑commissioning status.
• Ensure QA/QC inspections and preparation of handover documents.

PORR is expanding its data center activities and seeks a Mechanical Lead to manage mechanical site delivery on a large data center construction project. The role covers mechanical installation, plant coordination, subcontractor management, technical interfaces, quality control, testing support, and commissioning readiness.

Responsibilities

• Leadership of mechanical works on site, including cooling systems, chilled water, pipework, ventilation, CRAH/CRAC units, plant rooms, pumps, valves, supports, insulation, and fire protection interfaces.
• Coordination of mechanical subcontractors and verification of compliance with current drawings, specifications, and approved method statements.
• Review of mechanical drawings, technical submissions, procurement status, and installation details.
• Coordination of plant access, lifting routes, installation sequence, maintenance zones, and testing areas.
• Coordination of mechanical interfaces with electrical, CSA, BMS, controls, fire protection, and commissioning teams.
• Tracking of long‑lead equipment, testing readiness, flushing, pressure testing, balancing, and pre‑commissioning status.
• Coordination of inspections with QA/QC and completion of test records and handover documents.
• Safe control of mechanical works, including lifting, pressure testing, hot works, and permit requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical engineering or a comparable mechanical qualification.
• Minimum 8 years of mechanical construction experience on large projects.
• Experience in data center, mission‑critical, industrial, energy, or high‑tech projects is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cooling systems, chilled water, ventilation, plant installation, pipework, valves, supports, and testing.
• Good understanding of maintainability, access, water quality, leak prevention, and BMS/controls interfaces.
• Experience managing mechanical subcontractors and vendor packages.
• Fluency in English; German or Polish language skills are advantageous.
