Key responsibilities in your new role
- Shape the future: You develop a fully functional plugin for the chip layout software KLayout based on defined use case requirements
- Focus on the future: You contribute to innovative solutions that enhance layout design workflows through usage of AI within semiconductor design environments
- Take responsibility: You implement, test, and optimize software functionalities to ensure reliability, usability, and maintainability of the plugin
- Experience project management: You manage development activities throughout the project lifecycle, from requirements analysis to final validation
- Keep your colleagues informed: You create comprehensive technical documentation and present development progress, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders
- Lifelong learning: You explore new technologies, methodologies, and best practices related to EDA tools, semiconductor design, and software engineering
Your Profile
Qualifications And Skills To Help You Succeed
- Study Field: You are currently enrolled in a Master's program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- (Work) experience: You have a strong foundation in computer science and gained experience through complex Python programming projects as well as software development for web and/or desktop applications
- Skills: You possess strong programming and software engineering skills, ideally complemented by experience in plugin development
- Interests: You are interested in semiconductor technologies, CMOS processes, and Electronic Design Automation (EDA) environments
- Work Style: You stand out through your structured, proactive, hands-on working style and strong documentation capabilities
- Skills: Ideally, you have knowledge of KLayout, the SKILL programming language used in Cadence Virtuoso, and a basic understanding of EDA layout concepts
- Language Skills: You are fluent in English; German language skills are considered an advantage
