You will coordinate with production, engineering and contractors, oversee CMMS records, and champion safety and continuous improvement across the department.

Qualifikationen

• Requires degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Proven maintenance experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Experience leading, supervising, or mentoring maintenance personnel.

• Coordinate activities with production, engineering, and external contractors.
• Ensure maintenance documentation and CMMS records are maintained accurately.
• Champion health, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
• Ensure compliance with company, legal, and industry standards.
• Participate in an on-call rota to support critical operational requirements.

The Opportunity

As Mechanical Team Lead, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of a team of maintenance technicians and engineers, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of maintenance activities. You will play a key role in improving plant reliability, minimising downtime, and developing maintenance best practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a maintenance team of approximately 4-10 employees
• Plan and prioritise maintenance activities to maximise plant availability and equipment performance
• Manage maintenance workloads, resources, and repair activities
• Support root cause investigations and drive the permanent resolution of recurring equipment issues
• Improve maintenance strategies, preventative maintenance programmes, and reliability initiatives
• Coordinate activities with production, engineering, and external contractors
• Ensure maintenance documentation and CMMS records are maintained accurately
• Champion health, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives across the department
• Ensure compliance with company, legal, and industry standards
• Participate in an on-call rota to support critical operational requirements

About You

• Degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline
• Proven maintenance experience within a manufacturing, process, food, pharmaceutical, chemical, FMCG, or similar industrial environment
• Previous experience leading, supervising, or mentoring maintenance personnel
• Strong understanding of plant reliability, asset management, preventative maintenance, and equipment criticality
• Experience planning and coordinating maintenance activities within a production environment
• Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A structured, solution-focused approach with the ability to balance safety, quality, cost, and operational priorities
