Zusammenfassung

GROPYUS, a technology-based construction company focused on timber modular housing, seeks a project controlling and commercial steering lead for complex construction programs. You will own planning, budgets, forecasts, and KPI management with a base in Berlin and regular site visits.

You will shape processes, tools, and BI reporting, collaborate with project teams and senior management, and lead cost reviews during bidding and execution.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in business administration, civil engineering, industrial engineering, or comparable.
• Several years of project controlling experience in construction or project-based environments.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• High system and process competence with strong IT affinity (ERP systems, Excel, BI tools).
• Experience with costing and controlling software (e.g. iTWO, SAP, BI tools).
• Very good written and spoken German and English skills.
• Strong analytical mindset, commercial thinking, and a structured, independent way of working.

About the Role:

In this role, you takelead responsibility for project-related controlling and commercial steeringof complex construction projects. You set standards, provide decision-ready insights for management, and actively shape processes, tools, and ways of working. The focus is onownership, direction, and operational proximity— with a permanent base inBerlinand regular presence on construction sites.

• Strategic planning & forecasting coordination:End-to-end responsibility for the preparation, quality assurance, and consolidation of planning documents, budgets, and forecasts across multiple projects
• Project controlling with lead accountability: Steering of project KPIs including target/actual comparisons, risk and opportunity assessments, and active involvement throughout all project phases
• Reporting & performance management: Ownership of structure, quality, and development of management reports on performance, order backlog, and financial results, including ad-hoc analyses
• Interface & steering function: Close collaboration with project management, department leadership, executive management, and central controlling as a commercial sparring partner
• Tool-driven analyses & systems landscape: Further development of controlling and reporting systems, leading role in BI topics and process optimization initiatives
• Commercial leadership in the bidding phase: Responsibility for commercial evaluations, approval processes, cost reviews, and financial decision-making documents
• Knowledge development & functional guidance: Delivery of trainings, structured knowledge transfer on group-wide standards, and potential functional leadership of a small team
• Location & project proximity: Berlin-based position with regular travel to construction sites and project locations

About You:

• Degree in business administration, civil engineering, industrial engineering, or a comparable qualification
• Several years of solid experience in project controlling, ideally within construction or project-based environments
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• High system and process competence with strong IT affinity (ERP systems, Excel, BI tools)
• Experience with costing and controlling software (e.g. iTWO, SAP, BI tools)
• Very good written and spoken German and English skills
• Strong analytical mindset, commercial thinking, and a structured, independent way of working
• People leadership is a plus, along with strong communication skills, resilience, and confidence managing multiple parallel projects
