Kirby Group Engineering is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a Germany-based construction project. You will coordinate technical design from onsite installation to commissioning, ensuring compliance with design standards and project timelines.

With 7+ years in project engineering, you will lead design activities, manage submittals, and liaise with clients and vendors. The role requires strong communication and the ability to work independently within a dynamic team.

Qualifikationen

  • 3rd level Qualification in Electrical Engineering / Building Services Engineering.
  • Experience with LV and MV systems in building services and data centres.
  • Knowledge of Design Guides, Codes of Practice, ETCI/BS7671, Building Regulations, EN/IEC Standards.
  • Experience using Amtech, Dialux, Adobe Pro, AutoCAD 2D, MS Office.

Aufgaben

  • Lead electrical design activities on the project and coordinate with onsite installation through to commissioning.
  • Validate cable sizing and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare and issue electrical technical submittals and manage approvals workflow.

Role Purpose

As Senior Electrical Engineer based in Germany you will be responsible for the engineering activities on a specific construction project. The activities associated with the project will vary and will be agreed with the Project Manager on an ongoing basis. You will co-ordinate the technical design with the onsite installation through to the successful commissioning ensuring that the Kirby Group vision, mission & values are fulfilled.

Senior Electrical Engineer Responsibilities
  • Complete electrical design review to identify design gaps and deviations or contradictions in the specifications.
  • Validate cable sizing and make recommendations as appropriate.
  • Ensure that technical assessments are completed as required and technical issues are resolved without delay.
  • Compile and issue electrical technical submittals.
  • Manage submittals through the approvals process, track procurement and delivery of electrical equipment and complete the receipt verification process once the equipment is delivered.
  • Attend & record regular supply chain meetings to ensure that progress is monitored & maintained within the overall construction programme.
  • Update and record progress on system trackers which are fully aligned with the construction schedule.
  • Review the electrical installation with the BIM team to ensure the design is constructible and that there is adequate space for installation and maintenance of all equipment and cabling.
  • Liaise with the design team & supply chain to ensure correct operation of the plant on site & successful handover.
  • Complete electrical system walk-downs to ensure systems are compliant with specifications and drawings.
  • Compile test pack, FTOP's and O&Ms and present for approval.
  • Manage specialist vendors during the commissioning process to ensure timely completion of their works.
  • Undertake client training in line with agreed training plan.
  • Lead Engineering Design and Design Management tasks on Projects as part of an integrated project team,
  • Strong technical ability in all aspects of Electrical Engineering Services & Design,
  • Proactive with a strong ability to work independently and without supervision,
  • Design and specification of Electrical Engineering Solutions to current regulations and design standards,
  • Working directly with clients and project engineers to define project requirements and develop technical solutions,
  • Develop and agree design processes and design deliverables,
  • Lead Pre-Construction Engineering activities and the production of information including, design development, construction details, services coordination, technical submittals, sub-contracts, etc,
  • Assist in the continual improvement of the QA System and execute project reviews,
  • Provide technical support to the estimating, procurement, commercial, marketing and project bid teams,
  • Provide off site technical support to construction teams on projects,
Necessary requirement of the Senior Electrical Engineer
  • 3rd level Qualification in Electrical Engineering / Building Services Engineering.
  • Experience with both LV and MV systems primarily in building services and data centre environments.
  • Knowledge & experience of current Design Guides, Codes of Practice, ETCI and or BS7671 Regulations, Building Regulations, EN Standards and IEC Standards, etc,
  • Experience in Amtech, Dialux, Adobe Pro, Autodesk AutoCAD 2D and MS Office Suite Software,
  • Experience of client, vendor & contractor interaction & management,
  • Significant Project engineering experience of 7 years+ ideally in a construction environment.
  • Previous record of delivering Electrical projects (Commercial, Industrial, pharma, data centre type projects)
  • Commercial Awareness
  • Capability of walking down electrical systems to ensure compliance with specification
  • Experience developing technical submittals, completing technical reviews and assessments.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental systems and procedures – knowledge of the team, their strengths and weaknesses
  • The ability to multi-task and manage many priorities
  • Excellent communicator/strong interpersonal skills/communicates with impactExcellent record keeper and administration skills
