Zusammenfassung

SCAYLE is seeking an experienced Backend Architect/Lead to build scalable solutions with the Tech Lead and Product Manager in Hamburg. You will guide architectural decisions, ensure reliable delivery, and mentor engineers while collaborating with product, QA, design teams in a fast-paced, international SCRUM/Kanban setting.

Expertise in PHP 8+, Symfony/Laravel, MySQL, Redis and cloud tech (Kubernetes, AWS) is essential. English communication must be fluent to operate across a global team.

Qualifikationen

• 10+ years of total experience, with 5–6 years as backend developer.
• Experience leading or mentoring team members.
• Extensive experience in modern backend web development with PHP 8+.
• Deep expertise in Symfony and Laravel.
• Strong proficiency in MySQL and Redis.
• Understanding of event-driven architecture.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes, Helm, and AWS; managing deployment pipelines (GitLab or similar).
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Job Description

• Build complex, highly scalable technical solutions in close collaboration with the Tech Lead and Product Lead/Product Manager
• Define architectural decisions and ensure the delivery of reliable, state-of-the-art products
• Lead and mentor a world-class engineering team, collaborating with Product Managers, QAs, and Designers to ship new components and features
• Champion best practices in agentic engineering, efficiently leveraging modern AI tooling
• Work within a dynamic, international, and agile environment (SCRUM/Kanban) characterized by flat hierarchies and very short decision-making processes

Qualifications

• 10+ years of total experience, with at least 5–6 years as a Backend Developer
• Proven experience in leading or mentoring team members
• Extensive experience in modern backend web development, particularly with PHP 8+ in scalable, high-load environments
• Deep expertise in frameworks like Symfony and Laravel, adhering to best practices for building scalable applications
• Strong proficiency in MySQL and Redis
• Deep understanding of engineering principles and software architecture, including event-driven architecture
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure technologies such as Kubernetes, Helm, and AWS, as well as managing deployment pipelines (e.g., GitLab or similar tools)
• Fluent written and spoken English communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with Golang or exposure to Generative AI (GenAI) and related technologies is a plus
