Zusammenfassung

Army NAF in Grafenwoehr seeks a reliable laborer to perform general groundskeeping and facility maintenance on base. Duties include mowing, edging, pruning, loading and unloading, digging, and cleaning using hand tools and power equipment.

Candidates must have at least 3 months of laboring experience, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and work rotating shifts including weekends. Training and safety procedures are provided.

  • Moves heavy items of furniture and office equipment as required.

Requirements
Conditions of employment
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Must be able to work rotating shift, to include weekends, holidays, and MWR Special Events.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid USARUER Driver's License.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry moderate to heavy objects up to 50 pounds. Must also be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions.
  • Works indoors and outdoors. May be exposed to adverse weather conditions when working outdoors. Exposed to drafts, noise, dust, and dirt. Possibility of bruises, muscle strains, cuts and scrapes.
  • Required to follow safety procedures and use standard safety equipment such as gloves, ear protectors, and safety glasses to avoid possible hazards in the work area.

A Qualified Candidate Must Possess The Following

Three (3) month of laboring experience required.

Must have the ability use, control and clean tools and power equipment used, and ability to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps without constant supervisor of each task assigned

Skill And Knowledge

Manual skill to lift and move moderately heavy objects.

Skill and knowledge to safely operate simple power equipment and hand tools (lawn mowers, leaf blowers, edges and trimmers, scrubbers and buffers, steam cleaners and vacuums).

A basic knowledge is required of routine maintenance procedures for power equipment.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
  • One (1) year of Army Lodging experience.

  • The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is the local commuting area of Grafenwoehr. The local commuting area defined as within 100 km (60 miles) of Grafenwoehr and includes the communities Vilseck, Hohenfels and Ansbach.
PCS Costs
  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week - whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
  • Foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), incentives and differentials will not be paid.
