Zusammenfassung

Varengold Bank AG is seeking a Junior Associate in Structured Finance – Energy Transition in Hamburg. You will assist in analyzing financing opportunities and help structure complex project and corporate financings.

You will learn how project finance is built step by step and gradually take on more responsibility. In this role you gain experience with models, LOIs and loan applications while supporting the approval and onboarding process.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Economics, Finance or a comparable subject.
• Initial practical experience in banking, corporate finance, project finance or related environment is a plus.
• Strong motivation for energy transition and interest in BESS, hydrogen and renewables.

• Assist with analysis and evaluation of financing opportunities in energy transition (BESS, hydrogen, PV).
• Contribute to structuring and implementation of complex project and corporate financing arrangements.
• Analyze business models, financing structures and transactions; present findings.
• Prepare LOIs, term sheets and loan applications; support approval and onboarding processes.
• Develop financial models to evaluate new financing options and assess existing loan portfolios.

Help us shape the financing of the energy transition

Battery storage, hydrogen and renewable energies are key building blocks of economic transformation. For these projects to become a reality, they need the right financing.

As a Junior Associate in Structured Finance – Energy Transition, you will work closely with an experienced Senior Manager. You will support them in developing and implementing complex financing solutions – from the initial analysis through to the successful completion of a transaction. In doing so, you will learn step by step how project finance is structured and gradually take on more responsibility.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assisting with the analysis and evaluation of new financing opportunities in the energy transition sector, particularly for battery energy storage systems (BESS), hydrogen and photovoltaic projects
• Contributing to the structuring and implementation of complex project and corporate financing arrangements
• Analysing business models, financing structures and transactions, and presenting your findings
• Preparing decision-making documents, such as LOIs, term sheets and loan applications, and supporting the approval and onboarding process
• Further developing financial models to evaluate new financing options, as well as assisting with the assessment of new financing arrangements and the analysis of our existing loan portfolios

YOUR PROFILE:

• A successfully completed degree in Economics, Finance or a comparable subject.
• Initial practical experience, for example through work placements or part-time student roles in banking, corporate finance, project finance, transaction services or a similar environment, is an advantage – but what matters most to us is your motivation and willingness to learn
• Enthusiasm for the energy transition and an interest in battery energy storage systems (BESS), hydrogen and renewable energies
• Analytical thinking and a passion for solving complex problems in a structured way
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills in German and English
• Very good Excel skills, particularly in analysing complex data
• Very good written and spoken German and English
• Initiative, team spirit and a desire to take on responsibility and develop your professional skills
