Giesecke+Devrient GmbH in Munich shapes secure digital infrastructure and operates state‑of‑the‑art data centers. We seek an experienced Linux systems expert to design, implement, and continuously improve automation and operation of our enterprise environments.

You will manage RHEL, Red Hat Satellite, CommVault backups, monitoring, and on-site datacenter activities, collaborating with security, network, cloud, and application teams to ensure high availability and performance.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Computer Science or IT with relevant experience.
• Strong experience in Linux system administration, preferably RHEL.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and standardized operational processes.
• Hands-on with Red Hat Satellite for patch management, lifecycle management, and provisioning.
• Experience with enterprise backup solutions, ideally CommVault.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring and alerting.
• Willingness for regular on-site work in the datacenter.
• Knowledge of high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery concepts.
• Experience with virtualization, server, and storage technologies is an advantage.
• Knowledge of networking and IT security concepts is an advantage.
• Experience with scripting and automation technologies such as Bash, Python, or Ansible is desirable.
• Ability to analyze monitoring data, system performance, and alerts and translate them into concrete operational actions.
• Structured, reliable, and independent working style.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Your Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of infrastructure automation processes
• Administer, maintain, and optimize Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, including Red Hat Satellite
• Manage and monitor enterprise backup solutions, particularly CommVault
• Operate and maintain our infrastructure monitoring environment and continuously improve monitoring, alerting, and operational visibility
• Perform on-site datacenter activities, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, hardware replacement, and support of physical infrastructure components
• Operate, maintain, and continuously improve server, storage, and infrastructure services within our enterprise datacenter environment
• Proactively analyze infrastructure alerts, performance data, and system health to identify and resolve potential issues before they impact services
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to servers, operating systems, storage, backup, monitoring, and infrastructure services
• Support lifecycle management, patching, configuration, and hardening of server environments
• Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of our IT infrastructure architecture and operational standards
• Identify opportunities to increase automation, reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency
• Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge base articles
• Share knowledge, mentor colleagues, and contribute to technical training and enablement activities
• Collaborate closely with infrastructure, network, security, cloud, and application teams

Your Qualifications

• Strong experience in Linux system administration, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• Experience with infrastructure automation and standardized operational processes

• Experience with enterprise backup solutions, ideally CommVault
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring and alerting solutions
• Experience operating and troubleshooting infrastructure in enterprise datacenter environments
