Zusammenfassung

Airbus Defence and Space GmbH in Bavaria is seeking an IT-Expert Backup & Storage (f/d/m) to oversee the stable operation of on-premise storage and backup environments, focusing on NetApp ONTAP and Veeam.

You will plan maintenance, drive automation with Ansible, support ITIL processes with Remedy, Jira and Confluence, and collaborate across IT teams. German and English skills required; on-call and shift duties are expected.

Qualifikationen

• Several years of experience operating and troubleshooting complex storage and backup infrastructures.
• Excellent knowledge of NetApp ONTAP and Veeam Backup & Replication, ideally with NCDA/NCIE/VMCE.
• Experience with ITIL-based processes and tools such as BMC Remedy, Jira and Confluence.
• Good knowledge of Ansible for automating administrative tasks.
• Independent, structured and responsible work style with strong service orientation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical contacts.
• Willingness to participate in on-call duty and shift work.
• Excellent German and good English skills, both spoken and written.

Aufgaben

• Ensure stable, high-performance operation of the on-prem storage and backup environment (NetApp ONTAP, Veeam).
• Plan and execute maintenance, firmware updates, patches, and optimizations in production.
• Resolve complex malfunctions in 1st/2nd level support; coordinate with manufacturers and external teams.
• Develop and optimize ITIL-based incident, change, and problem management using Remedy, Jira and Confluence.
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for automation of tasks.
• Collaborate with IT, architecture and departments to implement requirements and lifecycle management.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operating manuals.
• Participate in on-call duty and be willing to work shifts.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Responsibility for the stable, high-performance and highly available operation of the enterprise storage and backup environment based on NetApp ONTAP and Veeam in an on-premises environment.
• Independent planning and execution of maintenance, firmware updates, patches and technical optimizations in productive operation.
• Analysis and resolution of complex malfunctions in 1st and 2nd level support, as well as coordination with manufacturers and external support teams in case of escalation.
• Further development and optimization of existing operational processes in incident, change and problem management according to ITIL standards using tools such as BMC Remedy, Jira and Confluence.
• Development and maintenance of Ansible playbooks for the automation and standardization of operational and maintenance tasks.
• Close collaboration with IT, architecture and specialist departments to implement technical requirements, as well as active participation in the lifecycle management of the systems.
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, operating manuals and SOPs to ensure sustainable knowledge transfer.
• Participation in on-call duty and willingness to work shifts as part of operational activities.

Desired skills and qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of NetApp ONTAP and Veeam Backup & Replication, ideally complemented by certifications such as NCDA, NCIE or VMCE.
