NXP Semiconductors is seeking an Intern (f/m/d) to support embedded software development in the automotive domain in Hamburg. You will collaborate with experienced engineers on real-world projects covering networking challenges in Automotive Ethernet, communication stacks, and system-level debugging.

Qualifikationen

• Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded or Automotive Systems.
• Strong C programming skills for embedded systems.
• Familiarity with OSI layers, AUTOSAR communication and diagnostics concepts.
• Experience with at least one RTOS or embedded OS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, Linux).
• Experience with low‑level debugging and hardware bring‑up.
• Good software design and analytical skills.

Aufgaben

• Develop and maintain embedded C software for automotive ECUs.
• Work with TCP/IP stacks from LwIP, FreeRTOS, Zephyr, and Linux environments to develop standalone SW for automotive use cases.
• Debug software and hardware issues using Lauterbach, P&E Micro, or similar tools
• Perform root-cause analysis of software and HW‑related faults
• Support software design, and documentation activities

Ausbildung

Student in Computer Science / Electrical Engineering / Embedded or Automotive Systems

You will work closely with experienced engineers on real-world projects with complex networking challenges in Automotive Ethernet, communication stacks, and system-level debugging.

This role offers hands‑on exposure to developing automotive software of excellent quality and is ideal for students who want to deepen their practical skills alongside their studies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded C software for automotive ECUs
• Work with TCP/IP stacks from LwIP, FreeRTOS, Zephyr, and Linux environments to develop standalone SW for automotive use cases.
