SMBC Group is offering an Intern (f/m/d) in Accounting within the Finance & Control Department. This role provides hands-on experience in financial reporting, reconciliations and regulatory compliant processes in a global bank setting.

You will support daily accounting activities, assist with monthly statements and intercompany reconciliations, and gain exposure to IFRS and regulatory requirements in an international environment.

Qualifikationen

• Enrolled in a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Strong Excel skills and high attention to detail.
• Good English communication and proactive mindset.

Role Summary

Position Description

This internship role supports the Accounting funtion within Finance & Control of AMBC EU AG in delivering accurate financial reporting and effective operational support. The role contributes to core finance activities, helping the department meet internal requirements and regulatory obligations.

Our role will enable you to:

• Support daily accounting activities, invoice processing and finance administration
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reconciliations
• Contribute to intra‑ and intercompany fee reconciliations
• Support analysis related to IFRS 9 provisions and portfolio reconciliations
• Gain exposure to regulatory and financial reporting processes within an international banking environment

What will you bring to the role?

• Enrollment in a degree programme in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a comparable discipline
• Initial exposure to finance or accounting through studies or previous internships
• Very good Excel skills; Power BI knowledge is an advantage
• Strong organisational skills, accuracy and willingness to learn
• Ability to work effectively in an international and multicultural team
• Good written and spoken English

• Previous internship experience within banking, finance or accounting
• Basic understanding of financial or regulatory reporting concepts
