Audit & Risk Recruitment is partnering with a globally renowned private conglomerate in Germany to recruit an IT Auditor for their European IT Audit team, based in Hamburg or Berlin. The role requires in-office presence once a week in Hamburg and travel about 20% of the year across Europe, offering exposure to diverse systems and controls.

As part of Internal Audit, you will plan and deliver IT audits, assess ITGCs, cybersecurity, cloud environments, and technology risks.

Audit & Risk Recruitment is supporting a globally renowned private conglomerate in Germany, Hamburg or Berlin, in recruiting an IT Auditor in their global team. The role is extremely diverse, offers a fast-paced environment and an opportunity to work across variously developed systems and controls. You will need to come into the office 1 x per week into the Hamburg office (wherever you are based in Germany) and travel around 20% of the year across European locations.

As part of the Internal Audit team, you'll work closely with stakeholders across multiple countries, providing independent assurance over IT systems, cybersecurity, digital transformation initiatives, and technology controls. You will report directly to the Head of IT Audit who will be supporting your growth and development.

Job scope:

• Planning and delivering IT audit engagements across all operations.
• Assessing IT governance, cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud environments, applications, and IT general controls.
• Identifying risks and recommending practical improvements to strengthen control frameworks.
• Building strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders across Europe.
• Supporting the delivery of a modern, value-adding Internal Audit function.

Experience required:

• 2-4 years' experience in IT Audit (internal or external audit), IT Risk, Information Security, or a related field. Candidates from the Big 4/Top 10 Accounting firms are welcome as well as those who already have some industry experience.
• A good understanding of IT General Controls (ITGCs), cybersecurity, and technology risk. Extremely important to show understanding of risks.
• Experience with audit methodologies and risk-based auditing.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, or CRISC (or currently working towards them) would be an advantage.
• Fluency in English. German language skills are beneficial but not essential.
