Twin Harbour Interactive is seeking a Head of QA in Hamburg to lead QA across four live strategy titles. You will define the quality bar, drive testing across Android, iOS and web, and ensure the player experience meets high standards.
You will coach QA Leads, own staffing and performance, and shape the QA operating model while pushing automation and data-driven decisions. This is a senior leadership role in a dynamic, hybrid work environment.
For fifteen years, the Supremacy Franchise has earned its players' trust one campaign at a time - over 90 million players lifetime, 2.2 million monthly active users, and 300,000+ concurrent commanders at peak. The franchise spans four live titles: Supremacy: 1914 , Supremacy: Call of War 1942 , Supremacy: WW3 , and Supremacy: Warhammer 40,000 . Each has its own community, its own codebase history, and its own technical challenges.
Our engineering direction is built on four principles:
Quality is where Stability becomes real - defining "done" to include quality, testing early and often, and treating incidents as learning, not blame.
As Head of QA at Twin Harbour Interactive , you own the answer to one question across four live titles: is this actually ready for players? Not code correctness, but product and player quality, the experience millions of commanders live in every day. You're the person who makes sure quality is a voice in the room before commitments are made, not a fire drill after they are.
This is a leadership role reporting directly to the VP Technology, and it's a people-leadership role at its core. You lead the QA discipline - QA Leads, Specialists, and Automation Engineers - and you own the career frameworks, performance, and quality bar for QA across the franchise. Your job is to build QA professionals up: to treat QA as its own craft with its own depth and career path, not a stepping stone into something else and not an afterthought bolted onto delivery. Everyone here owns the quality of what they ship - that's a founding principle - but you are the person accountable and responsible for it. You partner closely with the Heads of Disciplines and Heads of Product. You build QA Leads & Specialists who can run their own teams without leaning on you, rather than being the bottleneck every quality call routes through.
This is a newly created role, so you'll have real room to shape what QA becomes here.
Coach and grow the QA Leads - build each title's QA Lead into someone who can run their own team's capability and autonomy, not someone who relies on you to make the calls. Your leverage is their strength.
Own QA staffing across all titles - allocate coverage where it matters and surface coverage gaps and single points of failure before they become crises. You arbitrate QA staffing when titles compete for the same people.
Set and hold the product and player quality bar - define what quality means for the player experience, distinct from code quality, and give leads the authority and the expectations to hold it in practice across Android, iOS, and web.
Own careers and performance for QA - the career frameworks, performance, and growth of every QA engineer and lead across the franchise, held to one consistent standard.
Define the QA operating model - the structures, processes, and tools QA teams work within, kept light enough to move fast and robust enough to hold standards across all four titles at once.
Make quality risk visible early - be the player's advocate in cross-department conversations, so quality risk is on the table before commitments are made, not surfaced after the fact.
Push QA automation forward as a core priority - drive the franchise toward automating everything that can be automated, so specialists spend their time on the problems only humans can catch. This is a headline expectation of the role, not a background task - you set the automation strategy and hold teams to advancing it.
Make QA data-driven - move QA from gut feel to evidence, backed by metrics like defect density, test coverage, and escape rate, and use that data to change how teams work and what leadership funds.
Own external testing partners and vendors - build and manage the relationships that scale coverage up and down through outsourced or on-demand capacity, and hold those partners to the same quality bar as your in-house teams.
