Zusammenfassung

Wemolo, Munich, is seeking an experienced Head of Finance & Accounting to lead the financial backbone across five European markets. You will own finance systems, reporting, tax, and investor communications while partnering with management on strategic opportunities.

We expect 6+ years in finance leadership, strong German GAAP knowledge, and excellent communication across all levels, with a hybrid work model and ongoing growth of the European group.

Qualifikationen

• 6+ years of relevant financial leadership experience in a scaling company, corporate finance, or investment banking.
• Strong ability to lead, set standards and drive cross-functional initiatives.
• Deep understanding of German GAAP (HGB) and ability to liaise with external advisors.

Aufgaben

• Lead and scale the Finance & Accounting team, setting structure, priorities and standards
• Act as strategic business partner to management and internal stakeholders
• Manage relationships with lenders, auditors and advisors and support investor reporting
• Own integrity of financial reporting, monthly close, consolidation and annual statements
• Shape tax structure for the European group and oversee intercompany setup

As Head of Finance & Accounting (all genders) you take ownership of the financial backbone of a company operating across five European markets, from financing and investment decisions to the systems and standards that let Finance scale with the business.

What to expect:

• Leadership: Further scale our Finance & Accounting team, set the structure, priorities and standards of the function, and grow it in line with the requirements of a scaling European group
• Business Partner: Serve as a strategic business partner to management and other internal stakeholders by evaluating the financial performance of our business lines or other investment opportunities, and support corporate finance processes
• Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong relationships with lending banks, auditors and advisors, act as their primary point of contact, drive our financing and debt facilities, and support our Finance Director and Founders in investor communication and reporting
• Reporting & Close: Own the integrity of our financial reporting across all entities, from monthly close and consolidation to the annual financial statements under HGB and the audit process, working closely with our Accounting Lead and external auditors
• Tax & Compliance: Shape the tax structure of our European group: own the intercompany setup, assess the tax implications of new products, markets and entities, and bring complex questions to a decision
• Finance Systems: Act as system owner for the Finance & Accounting tool stack (ERP, consolidation, treasury): define the target architecture, evaluate and select vendors, steer implementation projects, and ensure adoption and process quality after go-live

Inspire us by:

• 6+ years of relevant professional experience, for example in a finance leadership role in a scaling company, transaction services, or investment banking
• Proven leadership experience, with a track record of developing teams, setting ambitious goals, and driving cross-functional initiatives that established lasting standards across departments
• An exceptional analytical mindset: you break down complex, ambiguous problems quickly and reach pragmatic, well reasoned answers
• A solid grasp of German GAAP (HGB) and the ability to challenge and steer external advisors on accounting and tax matters
• Confidence with finance systems and process design: you have led or substantially contributed to implementing an ERP, consolidation or reporting tool.
• Excellent communication abilities, with the confidence and clarity to engage effectively across all levels of the organization, from C-level executives to project teams
• Language skills: German at C1 or above and fluent English (C1)
