Zusammenfassung

MediaMarktSaturn is seeking a senior leader to steer the Data Science function, translating data assets into production-grade intelligence across customer and operations domains in a retail environment. You will lead a team of around 10 data scientists, collaborate with business, commercial and operations stakeholders, and drive measurable outcomes such as EBIT contribution and product adoption.

The role offers international teams, 30 days vacation, a company pension plan, and mobile work

Qualifikationen

Your tasks

• Leadership of the Data Science function with responsibility for the translation of MediaMarktSaturn data assets into production-grade decisioning solutions
• Ownership of the data decision layer above data products, translating data assets into deployed intelligence across customer and operations intelligence (e.g., recommendations, marketing activation, fraud detection, return reduction; demand forecasting, inventory optimization) to improve customer experience, commercial performance, and operational efficiency
• Identification and prioritization of high-value business cases; alignment with business owners; co-ownership of business outcomes; accountability for KPIs such as EBIT contribution and product adoption rates
• Leadership and development of a Data Science team (approx. 10 FTE) with direct disciplinary responsibility
• Steering of delivery against measurable objectives
• Establishment of reusable standards and shared methodologies across use cases for maximum synergies and scalability
• Close partnership with business, commercial, and operations stakeholders
• Translation of priorities into adopted, value-generating intelligence products

Your profile

• Business-driven data leadership: Proven ability to turn data into measurable value, with a track record of intelligence products driving commercial and operational outcomes
• Data science & customer intelligence: Strong data science and ML background, with hands-on experience building customer intelligence products that generate real business impact
• AI & predictive analytics: Demonstrated success shifting organizations from descriptive to predictive analytics
• Retail experience: Proven track record in retail, ideally omnichannel, with a strong understanding of how data drives value across both online and offline customer journeys
• Senior stakeholder leadership: Ability to lead and grow diverse teams while engaging credibly at C-level - translating strategy into execution and holding the organization accountable for outcomes
• Languages: Fluency in English, German is a plus
