VisionSpace seeks an experienced Ground Station Engineer for the ESTRACK Engineering Service team at ESOC, Darmstadt, Germany. You will join a mission-focused environment delivering assurance for satellite operations, RF compatibility testing, and station maintenance.

Responsibilities include RF tests, configuration management, documenting test results, and supporting NDIU operations and upgrades for complex ground-station facilities.

Qualifikationen

• University degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering.
• RF engineer with ground-station experience.
• Ground-station knowledge: architecture, maintenance and operations.
• Configuration management experience.
• Document test results in technical reports.
• Understanding of RF Compatibility Tests and ESOC processes.
• Familiarity with external interfaces like Maintenance & Operations (M&O).
• Familiarity with ground station maintenance and operations.

VisionSpace is seeking an experienced Ground Station Engineer to join our ESTRACK Engineering Service team based at the European Spacecraft Operations Centre (ESOC), in Darmstadt, Germany.

ESTRACK is the ESA Tracking Network of global ground stations, comprising a wide array of antenna types, i.e. for deep-space and LEO satellite communications. The facilities within ESTRACK require operations engineering services as provided by Station Maintenance and Operations Engineers (SMOE) who are assigned to a ground station facility asset. Station Maintenance and Operations Engineers are responsible for providing engineering services required for their assigned facility asset to prepare and maintain associated antenna facilities during the preparation of new support to the mission and execution (flying) phase.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Supporting Radio Frequency Compatibility Test (RFCT) process during the test campaigns
• Reviewing the Compatibility Verification Matrix, Test Procedures and test results
• Defining and executing the Radio Frequency Compatibility Test plan and production of the Test Report
• Maintain a plan of usage of the available NDIU (Network Data Interface Unit)
• Support the procurement of the NDIU
• Configure and validate the NDIU
• Support the NDIU operations
• Overall maintenance of the Ground Station configuration
• Supporting the station upgrade processes from the review of requirements to the validation and handover to operations

Qualifications & Experience

• University degree or equivalent education in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering.
• Telecommunication Engineering knowledge, (i.e. RF expertise) including practical experience as RF engineer in ground-station
• Ground-Station knowledge (i.e. architecture, subsystem maintenance and operations, incident management, station performance).
• Configuration control (i.e. knowledge and experience in configuration management )
• Document in production of technical reports reflecting the performed tests and the associated results
• Understanding of RF Compatibility Tests
• Familiarity with the ESOC environment: processes, configuration control
• Familiarity with ground station control processes and set-up
• Some experience dealing with external interfaces like M&O (Maintenance & Operations) and industrial suppliers
• Familiarity with Ground station maintenance and operations
