You will size and design gearboxes (strain wave, cycloidal, planetary), set tolerances, materials, lubrication, and bearing concepts, and coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing to ensure robust, scalable solutions.

The Mechanical Development team designs the drives, structural parts, and peripherals of our robots. From first concept to manufacturing-ready drawing, this is where lightweight, precise, and series-ready components come to life.
You develop high-precision, low-backlash gearboxes for robotic drives and bring them to series maturity together with suppliers and simulation.
Sizing and designing precision gearboxes (e.g., strain wave, cycloidal, planetary gearboxes)
Defining tolerances, materials, lubrication, and bearing concepts
Collaborating with gearbox/bearing simulation on service-life and stiffness sizing
Building, testing, and optimizing gearbox prototypes
Technical coordination with gearbox suppliers and manufacturing
Degree in mechanical engineering with a focus on drive technology/design
Experience in gearbox development, ideally precision or robotics gearboxes
Knowledge of gear design, tolerance management, and tribology
Confident use of 3D CAD and sizing tools (e.g., KISSsoft)
Analytical thinking and enthusiasm for demanding precision mechanics
