Zusammenfassung

microTECH Global Limited is seeking an experienced FPGA/PLD Engineer for a six-month contract in Augsburg. The role combines hardware architecture, verification and integration across embedded platforms with collaboration across hardware, software and firmware teams.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant engineering field and hands-on experience with VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog, FPGA toolchains, and high-speed interfaces like PCIe.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, CS or a comparable technical discipline.
• Strong understanding of digital design principles and hardware interfaces.
• Experience with FPGA development using VHDL, Verilog and/or SystemVerilog.

Aufgaben

• Develop FPGA and programmable logic solutions for industrial PCs, PLCs and embedded computer platforms.
• Design, implement, verify and maintain robust FPGA architectures for long-lifecycle industrial products.
• Support the full FPGA development lifecycle: requirements, architecture, RTL coding, simulation, verification, testing and hardware bring-up.
• Design and integrate hardware interfaces and bus-based communication systems (PCI, PCIe, backplane).
• Collaborate with hardware, software, firmware, test, product management and manufacturing teams to resolve integration challenges.
• Participate in schematic reviews, component selection and FPGA pin assignment.
• Contribute to signal-integrity considerations and high-speed PCB design and routing.
• Prototype bring-up, validation, testing, troubleshooting and debugging.

Role Overview

We are seekinganexperiencedFPGA / PLD Engineerto support thedevelopment of industrialautomation and embeddedcomputer platforms ona6-month contract.

The successful candidatewill be responsiblefor FPGA architecture, development, verification, hardware integration andvalidation, working closelywith hardware, embeddedsoftware, firmware andtest engineeringteams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop FPGA andprogrammable logic solutionsfor industrial PCs, PLCs and embeddedcomputer platforms.
• Design, implement, verifyand maintain robustFPGA architectures forlong-lifecycle industrial products.
• Support the full FPGA development lifecycle, including:
  • Requirements analysis
  • Architecture definition

  • Simulation andverification

  • Documentation and productsupport
• Design and integratehardware interfaces andbus-based communicationsystems, includingPCI, PCIe andbackplane communication.
• Work closely withhardware, embedded software, firmware, test, productmanagement and manufacturingteams to defineinterfaces and resolveintegration challenges.

• Support designs involvingPCIe, LVDS andother high-speedcommunication standards.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Degree inElectrical Engineering,Computer Engineering, EmbeddedSystems, Computer Scienceor a comparabletechnical discipline.
• Strong understanding ofdigital design principles, embedded systems andhardware interfaces.
• Experience with FPGAdevelopment usingVHDL, Verilog and/or SystemVerilog.
• Strong analytical andproblem-solving skills.
• Experience working withincross-functional andinternationalengineering teams.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with FPGA development environments such as:
  • AMD/Xilinx Vivado
  • Microchip Libero
  • Intel Quartus
  • Lattice development tools
  • Or comparable FPGAtoolsets
• Experience integratingthird-partyIP blocksinto FPGA designs.
• Knowledge of simulation, verification, scripting, automation and CI/CD.
• Experience with high-speed hardware interfacesand communication protocols.
• Practical laboratory experiencewithoscilloscopes, logic analysersand programmable powersupplies.
• German language skillswould beadvantageous.
• Experience with moderndevelopment methodologiesand engineering bestpractices.
