AI Futures in Berlin is building an AI-native procurement platform powered by intelligent agents. You will embed with enterprise procurement teams, turning challenges into AI-powered workflows and feeding insights back to Product and Engineering.

As Forward Deployed Procurement Engineer, you’ll sit between the customer and the product, deploying the platform and driving adoption to deliver measurable business value with senior stakeholders.

Forward Deployed Engineer | AI-Native Startup | €2M Seed Funding | Berlin

Location: Berlin

Package: Up to 90,000 + VSOP

AI Futures has been exclusively retained to identify a Forward Deployed Procurement Engineer for a well-funded, early-stage AI startup building an agentic intelligence platform for one of the world's largest and most commercially important industries: strategic procurement.

Backed by €2 million in funding and led by an experienced team including ex-McKinsey leadership, the company is now building out its founding team.

You'll join as approximately employee #6, giving you the opportunity to enter early enough to genuinely influence the product, customers and culture, while joining a business that already has the funding and foundations to accelerate its growth.

The Opportunity

The company is building an AI-native procurement platform powered by intelligent agents, designed to fundamentally change how enterprise procurement teams operate.

Rather than simply providing another piece of procurement software, the platform uses AI agents to understand complex spend, supplier and procurement data, automate workflows and help procurement teams make faster, more intelligent commercial decisions.

As a Forward Deployed Procurement Engineer, you'll sit directly between the customer and the product.

You'll embed with enterprise procurement teams, understand how they actually operate and turn their challenges into AI-powered workflows — while feeding what you learn directly back into Product and Engineering.

What You'll Be Doing

• Work directly with enterprise procurement teams to understand their workflows, data and biggest commercial challenges.
• Lead the deployment and adoption of an agentic AI platform within customer environments.
• Take customers from initial implementation through to measurable business value.
• Run demonstrations, workshops, onboarding and training with enterprise stakeholders.
• Understand customer technology stacks, data flows and integration requirements.
• Work directly with Product and Engineering to influence the platform roadmap.
• Translate complex customer problems into clear technical and product requirements.
• Identify opportunities proactively rather than waiting for customers to define them.
• Build the implementation playbooks and processes that will be used as the company scales.

Who We're Looking For

This is not a traditional Software Engineering role, and it's not traditional Customer Success.

We're looking for someone who combines procurement expertise, commercial awareness and technical confidence.

You'll ideally bring:

• Strong experience within Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement Consulting or Procurement Transformation.
• A genuine understanding of how enterprise procurement teams operate.
• Experience working directly with senior enterprise stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Confidence understanding customer data, integrations and technical environments.
• Exposure to procurement technology such as SAP, Coupa or similar platforms.
• Interest in AI, LLM-powered products and intelligent automation.
• High levels of ownership and comfort operating without rigid structures.
• Fluent German and English.

Experience within procurement consulting, SaaS implementation, Solution Consulting or another customer-facing technology role would be particularly interesting.
