Zusammenfassung

Bayer is seeking an Explosion Protection & Functional Safety Expert (all genders) to safeguard functional safety and explosion protection at our site. You will support new and existing plant projects, contribute to risk analyses, and advance safety standards and methods.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent), a recognized competent person for explosion protection, and a Functional Safety Engineer qualification, with experience in inspections and SAP/MS Office.

• Qualified as competent person authorized to perform inspections in explosion protection with practical inspection experience.
• Qualification as a Functional Safety Engineer.
• Confident handling of SAP and MS Office.

• Strong willingness to learn and interest in new areas.
• Good German and English written and spoken skills.

Aufgaben

• Ensure operator obligations in functional safety and explosion protection are fulfilled.
• Prepare inspection concepts in functional safety and explosion protection.
• Organize, coordinate, and monitor timely execution of recurring inspections.
• Carry out initial and recurring inspections in explosion protection and functional safety.
• Prepare inspection-relevant documentation (intrinsic safety verifications, SIL verifications with calculations, Safety Requirement Specifications).
• Advise and support new plant projects with technical expertise.
• Support topics related to process and plant safety in existing plants.
• Contribute as an expert to Machinery Safety Assessments and HAZOPs.

Explosion Protection & Functional Safety Expert (all genders)

In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring functional safety and explosion protection at the site. With your expertise, you will support both new plant and existing plant projects, contribute to safety assessments and risk analyses, and continuously further develop standards and working methods.

Your Tasks And Responsibilities

• You ensure that operator obligations in the areas of functional safety and explosion protection are fulfilled
• You prepare inspection concepts in the areas of functional safety and explosion protection
• You organize, coordinate, and monitor the timely execution of recurring inspections
• You carry out initial and recurring inspections in the areas of explosion protection and functional safety
• You prepare inspection‑relevant documentation, such as intrinsic safety verifications, SIL verifications including calculations, as well as Safety Requirement Specifications
• You advise and support new plant projects with your technical expertise
• You support topics related to process and plant safety in existing plants
• You contribute as an expert to Machinery Safety Assessments and HAZOPs (safety reviews)

WHO YOU ARE

• Completed degree in electrical engineering or a comparable qualification with relevant professional experience
• Recognized qualification as a “competent person authorized to perform inspections” in explosion protection, with practical inspection experience
• Qualification as a Functional Safety Engineer
• Confident handling of SAP and MS Office
• Independent, structured, and goal‑oriented way of working combined with a high level of initiative
• Strong willingness to learn and interest in new subject areas
• Strong communication skills as well as good organizational and collaboration skills
• Team‑oriented mindset and reliability
• Good written and spoken German and English skills
