Jobtailor in Germany seeks an experienced environmental consultant to independently manage complex projects in contaminated sites, soil, groundwater, and environmental planning. You will plan, coordinate, and oversee fieldwork and investigations, and supervise sampling campaigns on site.

You will prepare reports and expert opinions for private and public clients, collaborate with authorities and laboratories, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in geosciences, geology, hydrogeology, environmental sciences, or related field.

• Independently manage complex projects in the areas of contaminated sites, soil, groundwater, and environmental planning
• Plan, coordinate, and provide technical oversight for fieldwork and investigation activities
• Conduct and supervise soil, soil gas, surface water, and groundwater sampling
• Support drilling campaigns, soundings, and environmental investigations on site
• Evaluate and provide technical interpretation of laboratory and investigation results
• Prepare reports, technical statements, and expert opinions for private- and public-sector clients
• Assess soil and groundwater contamination
• Develop suitable investigation and remediation concepts
• Coordinate with authorities, laboratories, drilling companies, subcontractors, and internal disciplines
• Apply and assess relevant legal frameworks, particularly the Federal Soil Protection Act, water law, the Substitute Building Materials Ordinance, and nature conservation requirements
• Support permitting and approval procedures
• Contribute to proposal preparation and provide technical advice to clients
• Collaborate in interdisciplinary teams on regional projects in Lower Saxony and on cross-location and cross-disciplinary projects in Europe and worldwide

Requirements

• Successfully completed degree in geosciences, geology, hydrogeology, environmental sciences, environmental engineering, or a comparable field
• At least 3–5 years of professional experience in contaminated sites, soil, groundwater, or environmental consulting
• Practical experience planning and supporting field investigations and sampling activities
• Sound knowledge of preparing reports, expert opinions, and technical statements
• Good knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements in the areas of environmental protection and nature conservation
• Experience working with authorities and external project stakeholders
• Knowledge of GIS applications and relevant specialist software is an advantage
• Structured and independent approach to work
• Very good written and spoken German
• Class B driving licence
• Willingness to undertake regular field assignments
