Overview

Experienced Consultant - Capital Excellence

Cologne or Düsseldorf, Europe-based opportunities; part of McKinsey's Operations Practice focusing on capital excellence through lean construction project implementations and capability building.

Responsibilities

• Play an active role in problem solving for clients, including identifying issues, forming hypotheses, designing and conducting analyses, and synthesizing conclusions into actionable recommendations.
• Work with colleagues and clients across Europe to develop strategies that support business objectives and provide a competitive edge.
• Carry out lean construction project implementations and capability-building initiatives, developing short- and long-term plans for client leadership and McKinsey client service teams with anticipated deliverables, outcomes, and required resources.
• Receive exceptional training, frequent coaching, and mentoring from colleagues and senior leaders to build new skills and strengthen existing strengths.
• Be based in one of our European offices as part of the Operations Practice; contribute to solving complex operational challenges with strategic thinking and practical execution.

Qualifications and Skills

• Master’s degree and exceptional academics required
• Broad experience in capital excellence topics (e.g., capital projects, capital management systems, real estate, infrastructure, construction)
• Proven leadership experience in work settings or through extracurricular activities
• Mobility and enthusiasm for European assignments during the work week
• Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively in English and the local office language
