What You’ll Do

As an Engineering Manager , you’ll lead the Nav SDK team in advancing the maps and navigation ecosystem at Mapbox. In this role, you will:

• Mentor and Develop Talent: Support and inspire engineers, fostering a culture of growth, creativity, and innovation.

• Promote Collaboration and Innovation: Build an inclusive and collaborative environment where data-driven decisions fuel success.

• Drive Strategic Objectives: Align your team’s work with company and product goals, ensuring strategic cohesion.

• Define Product Roadmaps: Partner with Product and Engineering teams to shape the roadmap for our Maps SDKs.

• Shape the Vision: Play a key role in envisioning and evolving our rendering engines, contributing to business and product planning.

What We Believe are Important Traits for This Role

• Leadership Experience: 3+ years of engineering management experience. Proven track record of leading technical teams to deliver impactful products. Experience managing cross-functional teams of 5+ people.

• Technical Expertise: Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in mobile software development (iOS or Android), including experience developing Mobile SDKs. Strong understanding of SDK architecture, API design, design patterns, and best practices for building and maintaining reusable developer platforms.

• Knowledge of Maps and Location Technologies, such as GIS systems is nice to have.
