Riverty in Berlin, Amsterdam, and Tallinn seeks an Engineering Lead to guide multiple teams responsible for our checkout, consumer, and merchant experiences, as well as related consumer finance offerings. You will shape technical direction and enable high‑performing teams across locations.

You will combine engineering leadership with architectural thinking and work closely with Product and Tech Leadership to align priorities with business goals.

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience leading engineering teams and developing engineering leaders across multiple teams.
• Broad software engineering and architectural expertise, with ability to reason about complex systems, trade-offs, and architecture across frontend, backend, data and cloud technologies.

We are looking for anEngineering Lead(Checkout, Consumer & Merchant)(m/f/d)
(unlimited, full‑time) to join our team at our Berlin,Amsterdamand Tallinn
locations to build the next generation of fintechsolutions.

In this role, you lead a team of Engineering Leads and take responsibility for technical excellence anddelivery ofperformance across multiple engineering teams. Your domainspansourcheckout proposition,experiences for consumers,merchantsand partners as well as our consumer financeofferings.

You combine engineering leadership with architectural and organisational thinking, creating the direction and environment that enable Engineering Leads and their teams to perform at their best. You build alignment across teams, strengthen engineering leadershipcapabilities,and ensure local decisions contribute to a coherent and sustainable technical direction.

Working closely withTechandProductLeadershipand other senior stakeholders, you balance delivery priorities with long‑term technical health, ensuring that engineering decisions and investments contribute to product and business goals.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Shape and own the technical direction across multiple teams, translating our architectural vision and business strategy into clear priorities and guidelines
• Lead,developand grow a team ofEngineering Leads, strengthening their leadership capabilitiesand enabling them to build high‑performing teams
• Drive engineering and delivery excellence at scale,establishingconsistentstandardsfor quality, security,maintainabilityand modern engineering practiceswhile ensuringregulatorycompliance
• Balance delivery with long‑term technical sustainability, partnering with Product and Tech Leadershipto prioritise technical debt and structural improvements alongside business priorities and customer needs
• Drive alignment and continuous improvement across teams, resolving dependencies and systemic challenges, improving engineeringeffectivenessand enabling teams tooperatewithappropriate autonomy
• Accelerate AI‑enabled engineering and lead the related change,identifyinghigh‑value use cases, fosteringadoptionand scaling successful practices across teams

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading engineering teams and developing engineering leaders, with the ability to create impact through others andoperateeffectively across multiple teams
• Broadsoftware engineering and architecturalexpertise, with the ability to reason about complex systems, technical trade‑offs and architecture across frontend, backend,dataand cloud technologies
• Aproduct and business mindset, with the ability to translate business priorities into technical direction and drive execution across teams
