TOYOTA GAZOO RACING Europe in Cologne, Germany seeks an Engineer (m/f/d) Powertrain Rally Application - Race & Test to support works and customer rally engines during WRC events. You will prepare and develop rally engines on our dynos in Cologne, focusing on performance, drivability and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a degree in engineering, motorsport experience and strong command of engine control systems, with willingness to travel regularly to race and test events.

Qualifikationen

• Masters or Bachelor's in an engineering discipline.
• Experience in motorsport preferred.
• Direct Injection Gasoline Engine with Turbo System calibration knowledge.
• Willingness to travel to WRC race and test events.
• Knowledge of engine control systems and calibration concepts.
• Proficient in English (speaking/writing).

• Develop engine and subsystems for performance, fuel economy, and emissions compliance.
• Develop and optimize engine calibration at dyno and track.

We are looking for an Engineer (m/f/d) Powertrain Rally Application - Race & Test to be part of our works motorsport team in Cologne, Germany. Your main responsibility will be to support the engines for works and customer rally cars during WRC race & test events, preparing and developing the rally engines on our dynos in Cologne.

Your tasks

• ensure the optimal performance of race engines during race and test events of the WRC
• develop engine and engine subsystems in terms of performance, fuel economy and emissions regulations, fail safe and drivability requirements
• develop and optimise engine calibration process at the dyno and the track
• optimise all engine control functions according to track and drivers’ requirements
• engine control system calibration and application for powertrain and vehicle test definition, planning, coordination, proceeding and analysis

The successful candidate will

• have a Masters / Bachelors degree in a relevant engineering discipline and be a professionally trained engineer with preferably previous experience in motorsport
• have relevant experience with Direct Injection Gasoline Engine with Turbo System (Base calibration, Air Model, Torque Model, Boost control)
• be open to travel on a regular basis to race & test events of the WRC
• show knowledge and experience with engine control systems
• be able to write and speak professional English
