GERSYS GmbH in Wolfratshausen develops and produces customer-specific display units and on-board electronics for rail and special-purpose vehicles. We are seeking an Embedded Software Developer to design hardware-related software, firmware and drivers, collaborating closely with hardware teams to turn concepts into reliable products.

You will work on software architectures, OS images, device drivers and tooling, with C/C++ and embedded systems expertise.

Qualifikationen

• Master or Dipl.-Ing. (FH) in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering or comparable field.
• Experience in hardware-related software development and in managing development projects with modern methods.
• Proficient in assembler and C/C++ for embedded software.
• Knowledge of ARM architectures and programmable logic.
• Tool development experience with Python, Bash or scripting languages.
• Experience installing/configuring embedded OS (Linux, Windows, QNX).
• Analytical, structured, solution-oriented, hands-on with strong quality sense.
• Strong team spirit and fluent German and English.

Embedded Software Developer (m/f/d) full-time (40h/week)

As an Embedded Software Developer you play a key role in bringing our embedded systems to life. You develop hardware-related software, firmware and device drivers, design powerful software architectures and work closely with hardware development to turn innovative ideas into reliable products. You accompany our solutions from concept through implementation and validation to continuous further development, and support our customers with demanding technical questions. With your know-how in C/C++, embedded operating systems and microcontroller technologies, and your structured, solution-oriented way of working, you make a decisive contribution to the success of our products.

• Developing software for our devices and implementing innovative ideas and functions in close cooperation with hardware development
• Creating and further developing software architectures for embedded systems and platforms
• Developing and maintaining operating-system images (e.g. Windows, Linux and comparable systems) for embedded devices
• Implementing device drivers for various operating systems and hardware platforms
• Designing and programming firmware for microcontrollers
• Developing tools for validation, internal testing and supporting customer applications
• Creating sample applications and code examples to support integration and commissioning at the customer
• Development-side product maintenance and continuous optimisation of existing software solutions
• Software-side customer support for complex implementation questions and the analysis and resolution of demanding error patterns

Your profile

• Completed university degree (Master or Dipl.-Ing. (FH)) in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering or a comparable field; alternatively technical training or further education with relevant professional experience
• Experience in hardware-related software development and in carrying out development projects using modern project-management methods
• Practical experience in software development with assembler and C/C++
• Knowledge of microprocessors (e.g. ARM architectures) and programmable logic
• Know-how in tool development with Python, Bash or comparable scripting languages
• Experience in installing and configuring embedded operating systems (Linux, Windows, QNX)
• Analytical, structured and solution-oriented way of working as well as a strong sense of quality and a hands-on mentality
• Team spirit and very good written and spoken German and English.
