Job Overview
As part of the Electronics & Embedded Systems technology division, you will primarily support our Water Line Integrity Solutions business unit. Your work focuses on developing advanced technologies to monitor and ensure the integrity of water pipeline networks, contributing to sustainability and environmental protection.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize software for embedded systems based on STM32 microcontrollers using modern C++.
- Design, implement and integrate low‑level functions, hardware‑related interfaces and sensor drivers (e.g. via I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, Ethernet).
- Plan, execute and document tests for the functions and components you develop to drive continuous improvement.
- Support creation of technical concepts, assess feasibility and accompany implementation.
- Collaborate closely with adjacent departments such as electronics development, system integration and product development.
- Integrate existing FPGA components on the software side, independently develop FPGA IP cores (VHDL) and define data paths.
- Design and implement system services, interfaces and background processes in Python on Linux‑based SoCs.
- Contribute to system integration across the entire platform – from the microcontroller up to the Linux‑based target system.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of professional experience or solid practical expertise in embedded software development with modern C++ on microcontrollers or SoCs.
- Proficient in low‑level development (driver development, communication stacks such as I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, Ethernet).
- Good understanding of microcontroller and system architectures.
- Experience with structured testing and technical documentation in everyday development work.
- Experience with agile software development methods, ideally working in a Scrum team.
- Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with ambition to contribute expertise and further develop solutions together with the team.
- Optional additional skills:
- Good knowledge of Python for embedded Linux applications and system services.
- Experience with embedded Linux systems (e.g. Yocto) and typical DevOps tools in the embedded context (Git, CI/CD, container‑based build environments).
- Experience with FPGAs (e.g. AMD/Xilinx, Intel/Altera), including initial hands‑on integration or in‑depth VHDL knowledge and independent FPGA design.
Benefits and Work Life
