Emerson seeks a CI/CD and test automation engineer to join our embedded software team in Bavaria. You will design, implement, and maintain automated test suites and pipelines for industrial PC, PLC, and embedded products, with a focus on reliability and continuous improvement.

The role requires hands-on scripting (Python, Bash, C/C++), Linux proficiency, and experience with Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD, Docker, and test frameworks. German language skills are a plus.

Qualifikationen

• Experience with CI/CD practices, test automation, automated test frameworks, and modern tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Robot Framework, Docker, Git, or similar.
• Strong scripting and programming skills, preferably Python, C/C++, Bash.
• Solid Linux knowledge and experience in Linux-based development environments.
• Understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers, hardware interfaces, and x86/ARM platforms.
• Analytical, hands-on problem-solving approach; willingness to embrace agile, DevOps, continuous improvement.
• Professional proficiency in English.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or a comparable qualification.
• Experience with CI/CD practices, test automation, automated test frameworks, and modern development tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Robot Framework, Docker, Git, or similar technologies.
• Strong scripting and programming skills, preferably in Python, C/C++, Bash, or related languages.
• Solid Linux knowledge and experience working in Linux-based development environments.
• Understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers, hardware interfaces, and x86- or ARM-based platforms.
• An analytical, hands‑on approach to problem‑solving and a willingness to embrace agile, DevOps, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Professional proficiency in English.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

• Experience with embedded Linux, Linux driver development, kernel configuration, or low-level software development.
• Knowledge of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and test infrastructure design.
• Familiarity with industrial automation, industrial PCs, PLCs, or related embedded hardware platforms.
• Experience implementing security, performance, or reliability testing in embedded environments.
• German language skills.
• Experience building test reporting dashboards, quality metrics, and scalable automation frameworks.
