IONOS Group seeks a Director of Product Management to lead Domains, DNS, and SSL/TLS products with full P&L accountability for a multi-million-euro portfolio. This is a commercial leadership role spanning international brands, with a mandate to monetize and scale across regions.

You will bridge deep technical concepts with monetization strategies, guiding a cross-functional team and driving GTM initiatives across global markets.

We are seeking an entrepreneurial and strategic Director of Product Management to lead our core product lines: Domains, DNS, and SSL/TLS Products. This is not a purely technical feature-delivery role; it is a Commercial Product Leadership position of substantial scale. In this role, you will hold full P&L accountability for a multi-million-euro portfolio, drive international standardization across all IONOS Group brands, and lead an exceptional team of managers and product specialists. The successful candidate will seamlessly bridge deep web-infrastructure technical concepts with sophisticated commercial monetization models—directing everything from low-friction promotional "hook" pricing to enterprise-grade cloud automation.

Tasks

• Take complete accountability for the commercial performance, revenue growth, profitability, and budget planning of the group-wide Domain, DNS, and SSL business units.
• Maximize Customer Lifetime Value (LTV) and business margins by continuously optimizing product packaging, promotional pricing, and checkout conversion rates.
• Monitor and drive key commercial metrics, including Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), attachment rates (e.g., SSL and security add-ons at domain checkout), and registry/certification unit costs.
• Establish a unified commercial roadmap and standard product specifications across different IONOS brands, legal entities, and geographic regions.
• Navigate complex group structures and foster alignment among diverse regional business units, standarding core workflows (such as registrar platforms or billing systems) without slowing local market growth.
• Strategically manage a diverse, high-scale portfolio comprising:
  • Domains: Traditional and new top-level domains (ccTLDs, gTLDs, nTLDs), bulk registration platforms, and security features like Domain Guard.
  • DNS Services: Global Anycast DNS infrastructure, DNSSEC cryptographic security, and cloud integrations (Kubernetes, Terraform, REST APIs).
  • SSL/TLS Certificates: Free baseline wildcard certificates, paid commercial validation tiers (DV, OV, EV) in partnership with major Certificate Authorities, and the IONOS Cloud Certificate Manager using ACME automated renewal.
• Balance high-volume, loss-leader domain acquisition campaigns with high-margin downstream upsells (such as advanced DNS security, premium domains, or B2B enterprise certificate automation).
• Identify, negotiate, and manage high-value strategic partnerships with registries, Certificate Authorities, and technology providers to secure optimal pricing and robust integration paths.
• Co-develop impactful go-to-market (GTM) marketing campaigns and expand distribution channels to drive global product adoption.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a cross-functional team of 12+ direct and allocated professionals, including 1–2 mid-level product managers.
• Coach and upskill team members to transition from operational feature-delivery mindsets into commercial, entrepreneurial business owners who understand P&L levers

Qualifications

• Deep Niche Domain & Security Expertise: Proven, hands-on product leadership experience in web infrastructure industries, specifically dealing with domain registration systems, Anycast DNS, SSL/TLS certificate lifecycles, and PKI (Public Key Infrastructure).
• Commercial & Business Acumen: A track record of owning and scaling a multi-million-euro P&L, demonstrating solid expertise in margin expansion, financial modeling, and conversion rate optimization (CRO).
• Senior Leadership Experience: Extensive background in leading and mentoring product teams, with a proven ability to manage and develop other product managers (manager-of-managers track record).
• Navigating Complex Structures: Outstanding stakeholder management and persuasion skills, with experience driving alignment and harmonization in multi-brand, international, or group-wide organizations.
• Technical Depth: Complete familiarity with core protocols and developer tooling (e.g., ACME protocol, Let's Encrypt, Terraform, Go SDK, REST APIs) as they apply to domain and security automation.
• Bilingual Capability: Full bilingual proficiency in both German and English (written and spoken) is required for seamless cross-group coordination and international partner negotiations.
