Alvarez & Marsal Deutschland GmbH is seeking Directors (m/f/d) for its Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice to lead large, complex engagements in operations & supply chain for PE-backed manufacturing and distribution companies.

You will diagnose performance, design value-creation initiatives, and implement sustainable improvements across plants and warehouses, collaborating with PE deal teams and operating partners while engaging C-suite stakeholders in both English and German.

Qualifikationen

• 10+ years of combined professional industry and consulting experience, with at least 4 years in manufacturing and/or distribution functions.
• Experience working for or with private equity sponsors and PE-backed portfolio companies.
• Fluency in both English and German (written and spoken).

• Understand target’s manufacturing and distribution operations—organization design, capacity, efficiency, quality, planning, warehousing and team capability.
• Evaluate the maintainability and operability of production facilities.
• Review current and historical data to understand efficiency, capacity, maintenance logs, spare parts and production numbers.
• Provide shop floor insights by talking with employees and customers and reviewing data.
• Identify potential cost improvement opportunities through lean improvements, outsourcing or facility consolidation.
• Develop transformation plans to drive proposed changes and identify risks and mitigations.
• Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables and manage the team and day-to-day relationships to ensure exceptional performance.

The Team

A&M’sPrivate Equity Performance Improvement(PEPI) practice is looking to hire multiple Directors (m/f/d) - Operations & Supply Chain.

This role is focused on leading and delivering large, complex engagements for private equity-backed companies, working closely with PE deal teams and operating partners. You will play a key role in diagnosing operational performance, designing value-creation initiatives, and implementing sustainable improvement across manufacturing, production, and supply chain environments.

How you will contribute

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of a target’s manufacturing and distribution operations-- organization design, production capacity, efficiency, quality, planning, warehousing and team capability
• Evaluate the maintainability and operability of production facilities
• Review current and historical data to understand efficiency & capacity, including equipment conditions, maintenance logs, spare parts and detailed production numbers
• Provide shop floor insights by talking with employees and customers and reviewing all available data
• Identify potential cost improvement opportunities through lean improvements, outsourcing or consolidation of facilities
• Develop transformation plans to drive proposed changes and identify key risks and mitigation strategies
• Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables and effectively manage the team and day-to-day relationships to ensure exceptional performance.

Qualifications

• +10 years of combined professional industry and consulting experience, with a minimum of 4 years specializing in manufacturing and/or distribution functions
• Proven experience working for or with private equity sponsors and PE-backed portfolio companies
• Deep functional expertise in one or more of the following areas:
• Supply Chain Operations, Manufacturing Operations, including S&OP / S&IOP, Footprint optimisation, plant consolidation, and production line transfers
• Manufacturing strategy, CapEx planning, and operational excellence in food environments
• Lean, Six Sigma, TOC, and Value Engineering applied to manufacturing efficiency and waste reduction
• Demonstrated experience engaging with C-suite executives, as well as PE deal and operating partners
• Fluency to native level in both written and verbal English and German is essential.
