Cardmarket is seeking a DevOps Engineer in Berlin to scale, secure, and automate our infrastructure. You will collaborate with software engineers to deploy services faster and more reliably, ensuring 24/7 uptime and efficient operations.

The role emphasizes automation, monitoring, and strong Linux administration, with hands-on work in AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines. Hybrid office model in Berlin supports collaboration and flexibility.

Qualifikationen

• Strong knowledge of Linux systems.
• Experience deploying, configuring, and managing VMware vCenter Server is a plus.
• Good knowledge of shell scripting.
• Understanding of networking (DNS, routing, subnetting).
• 4+ years experience in Amazon Web Services.
• 2+ years of production Kubernetes with Helm charts.
• Infrastructure as code with Terraform.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI).
• Experience with system administration and infrastructure maintenance.
• Designing and maintaining logging architecture.
• Monitoring/alerting experience with Prometheus or similar; New Relic is a plus.
• Experience with automation and/or configuration management tools like Puppet.
• Good experience with MySQL, Redis, or MongoDB.
• Experience with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD).
• Experience with Cloudflare WAF.
• Nice to have: Bash/Python/Golang skills.
• Valid work permit is necessary.
• Presence in Berlin is required.

To strengthen our Technology Department, we’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to help scale, secure, and automate the infrastructure that powers Cardmarket. You’ll be part of the team ensuring that website is running seamlessly, every single day. You’ll work closely with our engineers to deploy services faster, safer, and smarter. This role is for someone who’s obsessed with reliability, loves automation, and gets a kick out of making systems run smoother everyday.

Your Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS
• Maintaining systems health and availability
• Understanding and resolving technical issues as they arise
• Automating repetitive tasks
• Monitoring of cloud infrastructure environments

• VMware server management
• Good technical IT Administration skills

Your profile

• Strong knowledge of Linux systems
• Good to have experience in deploying, configuring, and managing VMware vCenter Server
• Good knowledge of shell scripting
• Good understanding of networking (DNS, Routing, Subnetting)
• 4+ years experience in Amazon Web Services
• 2+ years of experience running Kubernetes in production using helm chart
• Infrastructure as a code (Terraform)
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD (Gitlab ci pipeline)
• Experience with system administration and infrastructure maintenance
• Designing / Enhancing and Maintaining logging architecture
• Good knowledge of Monitoring / Alerting with Prometheus or similar tools and having Newrelic experience will be an advantage
• Experience with automation and/or configuration management tools like Puppet
• Good experience with MySQL, Redis or MongoDB
• Experience in Azure Active Directory (Azure AD)
• Experience with Cloudflare WAF
• Good to have: Bash/Python/Golang Skills
