Quantum Systems in Germany is seeking a Development Engineer to drive the full development cycle of test systems for drone components and complete systems. You will create automated Python-based test software for production and optimize testing strategies to ensure top-tier quality.

You will collaborate with Production and Development teams, perform root-cause analyses, and interface between engineering and manufacturing to enable rapid growth in unmanned aerial system production.

Qualifikationen

• Completed degree or vocational qualification in a relevant engineering field.
• Experience developing test systems or test equipment in manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency in Python and C# with GUI development (Tk or Qt).
• Familiarity with hardware interfaces such as CAN, Ethernet, UART, I2C, SPI is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of digital/analog electronics.
• Experience with Git and collaborative development processes.
• Passion for technology, drones, robotics, or related fields.
• Excellent English and German communication skills.

As a Development Engineer, you will play a key role within our Production Engineering Team, bringing your own ideas to life by developing new test systems and optimizing production processes. Together with our world-class team, currently consisting of 10 members, you will play a central role in pushing the boundaries of drone technology.

You will work closely with stakeholders across Production and Development to take our manufacturing capabilities to the next level and enable our rapid growth. By optimizing production processes and developing new testing solutions, you will support Quantum Systems in its mission to establish unmanned aerial systems (sUAVs) as the benchmark for aerial data collection solutions.

What is your Day to Day Mission

• Take ownership of the complete development cycle of test systems for drone components or complete systems - from initial concept and mechanical/electronic design through to implementation.

• Develop and maintain automated test software in Python for production test systems.

• Develop and optimize test strategies to ensure production quality and reliability.

• Perform root-cause analyses of production issues.

• Act as the interface between our development departments and production.

What you bring to the team

• You have a completed degree or vocational qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a comparable field.

• You have experience in developing test systems, designing test equipment, or general manufacturing/production environments.

• You have experience with Python/C# and GUI frameworks such as Tk or Qt for frontend or tool development.

• Familiarity with hardware communication interfaces such as CAN, Ethernet, UART, I²C, or SPI is a plus.

• You have basic knowledge of digital and analog electronics.

• You are comfortable working with Git and modern collaborative development processes.

• You are passionate about technology - whether it's drones, 3D printing, robotics, or simply tinkering and building things yourself.

• You are self-motivated, take ownership, and independently drive your projects and areas of responsibility forward.
