Zusammenfassung

JustPlay is seeking a DevEx Engineer to enhance our developer experience by designing and running scalable GKE clusters, Istio, and GitOps pipelines. You will shape deployment templates and self-service platforms to empower engineers to build and ship faster.

You will collaborate with engineering teams to improve observability, access to cloud resources, and the overall platform adoption. Berlin base with flexible work options.

Qualifikationen

JustPlay is looking for a DevEx Engineer to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will help build and maintain the infrastructure, tools, and processes that make software development easier and more efficient for our engineering team. You will work closely with developers to improve deployments, simplify access to cloud resources, and create a reliable platform that enables teams to build and ship products faster.

Job Responsibilities

• Own and manage multi-tenant GKE clusters, ensuring scalability, reliability, and a seamless developer experience.
• Implement and maintain Istio service mesh, enabling secure service communication, traffic management, and observability.
• Manage GCP infrastructure through Infrastructure-as-Code, providing reusable and scalable solutions for development teams.
• Drive GitOps practices and optimize the ArgoCD ecosystem for automated and reliable deployments.
• Standardize deployment workflows through Helm, Kustomize, and internal templates to accelerate service delivery.
• Build and improve self-service developer platforms (e.g. Backstage) for provisioning environments, databases, and access.
• Provide developers with robust observability tools including dashboards, logging, and tracing for autonomous troubleshooting.
• Partner with engineering teams to continuously improve the overall developer experience and platform adoption.

Job Requirements

• Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters in a multi‑tenant environment.
• Strong knowledge of service mesh technologies, particularly Istio, for traffic routing and observability.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) tools and practices on Google Cloud Platform.
• Hands‑on experience with GitOps pipelines using ArgoCD (or similar) for continuous delivery.
• Ability to create and maintain reusable deployment templates (Helm, Kustomize, etc.) for microservices.
• You communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken.
