Amazon is seeking an experienced Data Center Security lead in Germany to coordinate security operations across multiple facilities. You will supervise contract guards, conduct drills, investigate alarms and liaise with internal and external stakeholders from a security perspective.

• Coordinate day-to-day activities and site security operations
• Coordinate with Operations and Safety managers for facility operations
• Provide guidance and leadership to contract security provider personnel
• Evaluate contract security provider performance, service delivery and request corrective actions from vendors as needed
• Foster working relationships to educate data center stakeholders on false alarm reductions
• Extract metrics, observe improvements by looking at and analyzing data
• Verify Data Center security programs are delivered to meet defined global security standards
• Assist in all media integrity related programs
• Assist in the training of new and existing personnel on behavioral compliance to security policies and procedures
• Handle escalations and resolve tasks delegated and/or assigned to the team
• Draft reports and prepare presentations on the status of physical security operations
• Collaborate with managers in writing and implementing security policies, processes and procedures based on regional or global security initiatives
• Serve as a customer advocate by identifying security‑related opportunities and crafting innovative solutions that maintain security standards
• Participate in site audits, inspections and walk‑throughs
• Identify, discuss and bring forward issues and solutions to senior team members

A day in the life

This position is 80% operational and 20% tactical. The DSS will support a senior Data Center Security Manager in charge of physical security operations in multiple Data Centers. The DSS role will include the supervision of the contract guard force, conducting drills and tests, investigating alarms, and participating in daily operations from a security point of view, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
