Qualifikationen

• Several years of experience in data center, network, and storage administration.

• Experience managing IP address space and firewall configurations.

• Administer data center infrastructure, ensuring uptime and reliability.
• Manage VMware environments, optimizing performance and security.
• Implement and document backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Managing IP address space and routing (subnetting, IPAM, RIPE/ARIN).
• Configuring and maintaining BGP and peering connections.
• Monitoring and securing IP space against DDoS and misuse.
• Administering and maintaining LAN/WAN/VPN, firewalls, load balancers.
• Managing DNS and Reverse DNS (PTR).
• Managing SAN/NAS storage (HPE, IBM).
• Optimizing virtualization and container solutions.
• Administering Horizon Client and VDI environments.
• Deploying virtual desktops and applications for internal users.
• Performance tuning and troubleshooting in Horizon infra.
• 2nd- and 3rd-level support for internal IT systems.
• Automating tasks with Ansible, PowerShell, Terraform.
• Documenting and continuously improving IT processes.

To strengthen our internal IT team, we are looking for a Data Center Administrator (m/f/d) to manage, optimize, and further develop our internal data center, network, virtualization, and storage systems. Since beON owns its own IP address space, managing and securing this infrastructure is also a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Administering, maintaining, and further developing our data center infrastructure
• Managing and optimizing our VMware environment (vSphere, Horizon)
• Ensuring a stable backup & disaster recovery strategy
• Managing and optimizing beON’s IP address space (subnetting, IP management, routing)
• Configuring and maintaining BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) and peering connections
• Monitoring and securing beON’s IP address space against DDoS attacks and misuse
• Administering and maintaining the network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN, firewalls, load balancers, routing)
• Managing Reverse DNS (PTR records) and DNS entries
• Managing storage systems (SAN, HPE, IBM)
• Optimizing virtualization and container solutions
• Administering and optimizing VMware Horizon Client and VDI environments
• Deploying and managing virtual desktops and applications for internal users
• Performance tuning and troubleshooting within the VMware Horizon infrastructure
• 2nd‑ and 3rd‑level support for internal IT systems
• Automating administrative tasks (Ansible, PowerShell, Terraform)
• Documenting and continuously improving IT processes

Your Profile

Experience & Expertise

• Several years of experience in data center, network, and storage administration
• Strong knowledge of VMware technologies (vSphere, Horizon, ESXi, vCenter)
• Expertise in VMware Horizon Client & Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
• Experience with storage solutions (SAN/NAS, HPE, IBM)
• Proficiency in Windows and Linux server administration
• Experience with IP address management (subnetting, CIDR, RIPE/ARIN concepts)
• Knowledge of BGP, border routing, and peering connections
• Experience with DNS, Reverse DNS (PTR records), and firewall rules for private IPs

Nice‑to‑Have

• Knowledge of cloud integration (Azure, AWS, VMware vCloud)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & automation (Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell)
• Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware VCP‑DTM, VMware VCAP, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Microsoft Azure Administrator)
