Jobgether is seeking a Data Analyst I to support public health surveillance and prevention initiatives focused on dialysis-related infections.   • Conduct outreach, education, consultation, and support for dialysis providers, QI organizations, health departments, and partner groups.
  • Analyze daily system functions, identify data-quality issues, and contribute to system modifications and enhancements.
  • Develop and manage data validation projects to evaluate and improve surveillance data quality.
  • Update surveillance forms, instructions, protocols, training materials, and educational resources based on improvement recommendations.
  • Collaborate with experts to improve usability of surveillance data for infection prevention and dialysis safety.
  • Manage reports, data exchanges, and agreements between public health authorities and partner organizations.
  • Review user inquiries related to surveillance and CMS quality incentive programs and prepare clear response documentation.
  • Support enrollment and data-entry requirements, handling approximately 212 inquiries per month.

This role supports public health surveillance and prevention initiatives focused on dialysis-related healthcare-associated infections.

You will provide data analysis, quality assessment, user support, and technical assistance for a national surveillance system.

The position combines hands-on data management with stakeholder education, reporting, and system improvement activities.

You will work closely with public health experts, healthcare organizations, quality improvement groups, and government partners.

Your analysis will help strengthen data quality, improve surveillance tools, and support infection prevention efforts.

The role also includes developing training materials, responding to user inquiries, and contributing to communications and reporting.

This is a remote opportunity with meaningful impact on public health surveillance and prevention programs.

Accountabilities:

As a Data Analyst I, you will support surveillance operations, data quality initiatives, user engagement, and prevention-focused activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide direct user guidance and technical assistance for the NHSN Dialysis Event module.
  • Conduct outreach, education, consultation, and support for dialysis providers, quality improvement organizations, health departments, and other partner groups.
  • Analyze daily system functions, identify data-quality issues, and contribute to system modifications and enhancements.
  • Develop and manage data validation projects to evaluate and improve surveillance data quality.
  • Update surveillance forms, instructions, protocols, training materials, and educational resources based on improvement recommendations.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to improve the usability of surveillance data for infection prevention and dialysis safety efforts.
  • Manage reports, data exchanges, and agreements between public health authorities and partner organizations.
  • Review user inquiries related to surveillance and CMS quality incentive programs and prepare clear response documentation.
  • Support enrollment, inquiries, and the correct application of healthcare-associated infection definitions and data-entry requirements, handling approximately 212 inquiries per month.
  • Identify system and user issues requiring modification and contribute to the development and prioritization of improvements.
  • Support the development of surveillance modules and electronic reporting mechanisms while gathering user feedback to improve interfaces and functionality.
  • Prepare and deliver approximately 20--30 educational training sessions annually.
  • Create and review communications, outreach materials, web content, and resources related to infection prevention and surveillance.
  • Perform data management, cleaning, quality assessment, and statistical analyses.
  • Analyze surveillance data supporting CMS quality incentive programs and develop reports for users and stakeholders.
  • Promote participation in ESRD Network, NCC, and other healthcare-associated infection prevention initiatives.
  • Contribute subject matter expertise to meeting planning and activities related to surveillance, dialysis safety, and prevention programs.
  • Participate in public health response activities and training exercises, including supporting emergency operations functions when required.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines public health knowledge with strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, or a related field.
  • 1--2 years of experience conducting public health data analysis and manipulating, cleaning, and reporting data using statistical methods.
  • Proficiency with statistical software such as SAS, R, Python, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of data management systems and data management applications.
  • Understanding of public health research and evaluation principles, methods, and practices.
  • Knowledge of program development, monitoring, and evaluation procedures and guidelines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Strong analytical judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver clear and convincing presentations.
  • Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail.
  • Previous experience working with government procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Public Trust Clearance.
  • A Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3--5 years of relevant public health data analysis experience is preferred.
  • Previous CDC experience is highly desirable, particularly familiarity with its working environment and culture.
