Zusammenfassung

Recovery Innovations is seeking a Constable to maintain a safe, recovery-focused environment using a recovery coaching approach. The role emphasizes non-violent de-escalation and skilled transport of individuals while ensuring safety on facility premises and during evaluation processes.

The candidate should have a High School Diploma, Peer Employment Training Certification, and Constable Academy Certification, with prior law enforcement or crisis experience preferred.

Summary of Job:

The Constable is responsible for providing a safe, recovery environment that ensures respect and dignity using a recovery coaching approach. The Constable will demonstrate non-violent verbal de-escalation skills at all times and uses physical hold interventions as a last resort, to ensure safety and ensure involuntary guests remain on facility premises as indicated.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Guest Care & Advocacy:
  • Provides a welcoming environment for individuals using the Recovery Coaching process.
  • Utilizes “No Force First” philosophy, i.e., non-violent, verbal de-escalation skills.
  • Provides the safe transport of individuals as directed.
  • Ensures the safety and security of individuals within the facility.
  • Provides direct support to all involuntary individuals during the evaluation process.
  • Compliance & Risk Management:
  • Documents relevant and required information and services provided.
  • Keeps abreast of all federal and state regulations and laws and all Recovery Innovations policies and procedures as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
  • Understands and adheres to Recovery Innovations compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration:
  • Assists staff in reviewing and securing individual and visitor personal items.
  • Additional Duties:
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
  • Education/Licenses:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of Peer Employment Training thus obtaining Certification as a Peer Support Specialist required.
  • Experience:
  • Prior law enforcement experience within the last five (5) years or prior employment as a Constable.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of behavioral health experience, crisis environment preferred.
  • Must meet and pass the minimum training and experience standards established by the Board of Examiners of Constables.
  • Skills:
  • Knowledge of all applicable code governing the power, duties and jurisdiction of a Constable.
  • Knowledge of Title 16, 24-hour hold process.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Must be able to pass de-escalation training, as defined by state requirements.
  • Driving Requirements:
  • If driving is required for this position, must meet all requirements outlined in Recovery Innovations driving policy.
  • If not qualified to drive per driving policy, a Non-Driver Attestation form must be signed.
  • Miscellaneous Requirement(s):
  • Must be at least 18 years old unless residing in a state where funder or government regulations set a different minimum age requirement.
  • Travel required based on business need.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism.
  • We are a Second-Chance Employer
    • Must be able to pass a seven-year background check.
    • Must be able to pass substance abuse testing and/or tuberculous testing (if applicable).
    • Must be able to obtain designated fingerprinting clearance in applicable states.
    • Must be able to pass education verification check.
    • Must be able to pass three-year motor vehicle report and meet minimum eligibility requirements criteria of insurance carrier (if driving is required for this position).

A Direct Service Competency Checklist must be completed as part of the new hire onboarding process.

Physical Demands

May include work close to the eyes and substantial motions of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, handling, finger dexterity; eye-hand-foot coordination, use of corrected vision; color vision; use of auditory senses. May be required to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

Work Environment

May work in an office environment or behavioral health facility. May have contact with individuals who are agitated and/or confused. Work may include travel throughout the geographic region.
