Rocket Factory Augsburg is seeking a Production Engineer with a technical background in aerospace materials to oversee the production and assembly of composite components for our Vehicle program. Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering, Aerospace, or related technical disciplines.
• At least one year’s experience in a composite manufacturing environment in a technical role.
• Self-independent, structured, adaptable to changing environments.
• Experience with composite manufacturing prepreg, VRI, sandwiches, and bonding.
• Experience creating work instructions for composite machining parts.
• Knowledge of tooling for composite manufacturing, repairs and assembly of larger structures.
• Familiarity with CAD tools, ERP/MES, and business intelligence platforms.
• Fluent English, both spoken and written.

The Vehicle Team is seeking a proactive, organised individual with a technical background in aerospace materials to oversee the production and assembly of composite components at Rocket Factory Augsburg. In addition, this Production Engineer role will be responsible for lifecycle management, production integration, continuous improvement initiatives based on lean manufacturing principles, and supporting the development of Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs).

The successful candidate will serve as the key link between the Vehicle Engineering and Production teams, driving process improvements, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring the vehicle meets quality, cost, and delivery targets within a fast‑paced and evolving environment. You will also play a pivotal role in developing, refining, and standardising manufacturing processes to ensure the products we build are of the highest quality and can be produced consistently and repeatably.

Your Tasks

• Responsible for the release and management of composite production and MBOMs for the Vehicle
• Follow our Vehicle through their life cycle on the manufacturing and assembly floor
• Work across the business with your colleagues in Supply Chain, Quality, Production and Operations to ensure all aspects of the Vehicle are built to specification and on time.
• Support with writing NCR’s and champion the root cause analysis and corrective actions, leading to improved Production performance.
• Develop new processes and toolsets to better connect our teams, reducing administrative overheads for Production whilst providing more insights into how our Vehicles are built.
• As the main interface between Vehicle and Production, deliver further reforms such as part manufacturability, better quality controls and continuous improvement of work practice with a specific eye oriented at cost reduction

Your Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering, Aerospace, or related technical disciplines.
• At least one year’s experience in a composite manufacturing environment in a technical role. Additional time served in other aerospace or engineering industries is desirable (one year or more), experience in fast‑paced/unstructured companies is an added benefit.
• Self-independent, a structured way of working and committed to working in an ever‑changing environment.
• Experience in manufacturing composite with prepreg, VRI, sandwich structures and bonding
• Experience in creating work instructions for composite machining parts.
• Knowledge of tooling for composite manufacturing, repairs and assembly of larger structures.
• Fair knowledge of manufacturing processes, how to organize work activities and tasks for industry, and management of assemblies. Pre-existing knowledge of spaceflight and rockets is desirable.
• Experience with CAD tools, along with ERP or MES and business intelligence platforms is desirable.
• Fluent oral and written English language skills (all day‑to‑day activities are performed in English)
