Intersect develops, constructs, and operates the most ambitious power and data center infrastructure in the country by co-locating industrial demand with dedicated gas and renewable power generation.

Intersect was acquired by Google in March 2026 and operates as an independent subsidiary. We are developing and constructing multiple gigawatts of energy and data center projects in the U.S., enabling more data center and generation capacity to come online faster. We’re on an aggressive growth trajectory and looking for people hungry to tackle the largest energy challenges on the planet.

Location & Team Gatherings

Intersect has been a fully flexible workplace since its founding in 2016. We’ve been very intentional about the way we do things. We are not work-from-home, hybrid, or in-office - we are any and all of those options! Deepening social connections and offering shared experiences is a cornerstone of the way we work. We connect as a team at our Team Week experiences four times a year and at our recently established Hub locations - SF Bay Area, NYC Metro Area, NY; Denver, CO; Austin, TX; Calgary, AB; and Toronto, ON.

We are currently looking for candidates located within 60 miles of any of the listed hubs to foster more in-person connections while maintaining our flexible remote culture.

About This Role

As a Community Engagement Team Member on Intersect’s Community Engagement team, you’ll support and coordinate community programs that foster trust-based, long-term relationships in the communities where we develop and operate clean energy infrastructure. You’ll drive sentiment analysis, utilize ArcGIS for siting insights, and manage crucial stakeholder communications across every stage of the project lifecycle. You’ll also maintain administrative and financial rigors to keep community initiatives running seamlessly. This role is planned to start on August 17, 2026.

Team Overview

This team plays a critical role in advancing Intersect’s mission to accelerate the clean energy transition. The Community Engagement team acts as the bridge between our clean energy developments and host communities, ensuring local voices are respected, partnerships are collaborative, and long-run value is created for all local stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

Analyze Community Dynamics and Siting

  • Perform comprehensive desktop research and sentiment analysis to evaluate local perceptions toward development and clean energy projects.

  • Utilize ArcGIS to conduct detailed siting analyses, identifying key local dynamics, community boundaries, and potential engagement opportunities.

Drive Stakeholder and Landowner Communications

  • Create, manage, and distribute official stakeholder and landowner notices tied to key project milestones across development and operational phases.

  • Track engagement workflows, ensuring consistent, transparent, and accurate communication across all target regions.

Support Team Operations and Financial Stewardship

  • Provide critical administrative oversight for the Community Engagement team, managing check requests, vendor invoicing, and budget tracking.

  • Maintain accurate records of community commitments, outreach history, and financial disbursements to support long-term accountability.

What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Environmental Policy, Urban Planning, Public Affairs, or a related discipline.

  • 1+ years of experience supporting community engagement, public outreach, or local stakeholder management within clean energy or large-scale infrastructure.

  • Proficiency with spatial analysis tools, specifically ArcGIS, alongside demonstrated skill in conducting community sentiment research and reporting.

  • Proven track record of managing structured landowner/stakeholder notice processes across multi-phase project lifecycles.

  • Exceptional organizational and administrative abilities, including budget tracking, invoicing, and cross-functional coordination.

  • Empathetic, proactive, and resilient communication style, deeply grounded in Intersect’s core values of Equity, Humility, Authenticity, Long-run Value, and People Come First.
