Qualifikationen

• Strong professional background in optics, optical engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Extensive experience developing complex laser systems, preferably in the kW range.
• Strong depth across optics and optomechanics, with broad understanding of wider engineering disciplines.
• Demonstrable experience with mechanical structures and supporting systems around complex laser systems.
• Strong understanding of thermal management, mechanical engineering, sensors, optics and optomechanics.
• Experience taking hardware from concept through to field operation.
• Experience working with systems deployed in harsh environments.
• Experience with SolidWorks and/or Zemax is useful.
• Experience from defence or industrial lasers or other high power-laser applications is advantageous.

My client is searching for a Chief Engineer, to lead the development of their laser drilling R&D programme. This is a highly technical leadership position, where you have ownership of the system architecture and technical development direction of their advanced laser technology.

As Chief Engineer, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of Engineers and Scientists, working from R&D through to real-world deployment.

This is an onsite position, based in Munich.
