Solactive AG, a leading German index provider founded in Frankfurt, seeks a seasoned Business Manager to shape strategy and development for the Index Management department. You will lead cross‑functional projects, develop innovative solutions, and ensure delivery of key priorities in a global context.

You will partner with stakeholders across Product, Technology, Data, Sales and Compliance, translating complex topics into actionable plans while driving transformation and governance improvements.

Qualifikationen

• University degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or a comparable field.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in a relevant environment such as financial services, asset management, consulting, or project management.
• Strong interest in financial markets and index products; prior exposure to index/benchmarking topics is a plus.
• Proven experience in managing projects and strategic initiatives with structured workstreams and coordination of stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, analytical and conceptual skills for complex topics.
• Ability to work with senior stakeholders in an international environment.
• High ownership, proactivity and curiosity to drive topics to completion.
• Structured, detail‑oriented work style with good prioritization in a fast‑paced setting.
• Strong MS Office skills; experience with JIRA/Confluence/Smartsheet/Asana is advantageous.

• Act as a trusted partner to the Head of Index Management on strategic, organizational, and operational topics.
• Drive strategic initiatives from concept through execution for the Index Management department.
• Independently manage cross‑functional projects involving Product, Technology, Data, Sales, Compliance, and other functions.
• Coordinate transformation initiatives to align with Solactive's strategy.
• Prepare management presentations, business cases, analyses and decision papers for senior leadership.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, governance and organizational effectiveness across Index Management.
• Monitor objectives and milestones, ensuring delivery on time and quality.
• Conduct market and industry research to support strategic decisions and identify trends.
• Organize workshops and leadership meetings with clear ownership and action follow‑ups.
• Take ownership of ad hoc strategic topics and drive them to completion.

Job Overview

As Business Manager, you will work closely with the Head of Index Management to shape the strategy and development of the department responsible for the successful delivery and operation of Solactive's global index business. You will lead cross-functional projects, develop innovative solutions to complex business challenges, and ensure the successful execution of key departmental priorities. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine strategic thinking with hands‑on execution while collaborating with stakeholders across the company.

Your Tasks

• Act as a trusted partner to the Head of Index Management on strategic, organizational, and operational topics.
• Drive strategic initiatives that shape the future of the Index Management department, from concept development through execution.
• Independently manage cross-functional projects involving Product, Technology, Data, Sales, Compliance, and other business functions.
• Coordinate departmental transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with the company's overall strategy.
• Prepare management presentations, business cases, analyses, and decision papers for senior leadership.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, governance, and organizational effectiveness across Index Management.
• Monitor strategic objectives and key initiatives, proactively following up on milestones and ensuring successful delivery.
• Conduct market and industry research to support strategic decisions and identify emerging trends in indexing, financial markets, and technology.
• Organize workshops, leadership meetings, and cross-functional working groups while ensuring clear ownership and execution of agreed actions.
• Take ownership of ad hoc strategic topics and independently drive them to completion.

Your Profile

• University degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or a comparable field.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in a relevant environment (e.g. financial services, asset management, consulting, project management office or business management role).
• Strong interest in financial markets and index products; prior exposure to index/benchmarking topics is a plus.
• Proven experience in managing projects and strategic initiatives, including structuring workstreams, tracking progress and coordinating diverse stakeholders.
• Very strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to quickly understand complex topics and translate them into clear structures, actions and recommendations.
• Excellent communication and social skills, able to work effectively with senior stakeholders and cross‑functional teams in an international environment.
• High degree of ownership, proactivity and curiosity: you like to “run with” topics independently, bring ideas and see them through to implementation.
• Structured and reliable way of working, with strong attention to detail and good prioritization skills in a fast‑paced environment.
• Very good MS Office skills (especially PowerPoint and Excel); experience with project or collaboration tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet, Asana) is an advantage.
