Jobbeschreibung

You turn charge points into valuable flexibility. Every contract you close makes the grid a little more balanced, and Deftpower's Virtual Power Plant a little bigger. Join Deftpower!

About Deftpower

At Deftpower, we’re shaping the future of electric charging every single day. Our SaaS‑platform helps businesses across Europe make charging simpler, smarter and more sustainable. With AI and intelligent software, we make sure charging works seamlessly with the energy grid, creating a greener and more stable system for everyone. We’re growing fast, thanks to a recent major investment, and there’s never a dull moment! We’re expanding, improving our technology, and teaming up with companies in over ten countries.

About the Team

You join the commercial side of Deftpower, where Business Development, Sales, Product and Operations work closely together to accelerate the adoption of smart charging across Europe. This role sits on the demand side of our flex ecosystem: you win CPOs (AC, DC/HPC and home/private) as flex‑demand partners, turning the flexibility already sitting on their networks into something we can monetise and share back with drivers. You report to Lucas, Head of Sales.

For You

At Deftpower you’ll find more than cutting‑edge tech; you’ll find a team that actually enjoys the ride! Colleagues say we are ambitious, friendly and flexible, with just the right amount of chaos to keep things interesting. Working at Deftpower is both rewarding and challenging. There are many moving parts, partners, suppliers, clients and we are a fast‑growing company that is still learning. You get support from talented colleagues and a management team that’s close, approachable and ready to roll up their sleeves. You get the space to shape your role, to take initiative, to make real decisions, test ideas, and yes, sometimes break things. We call it ‘learning fast’.

  • Salary range: between €60,000 and €90,000 on an annual basis
  • 25 vacation days
  • Choose your own laptop to work with (€1,750)
  • A flexible setup: hybrid working, short decision lines and trust
  • €2,000 training budget a year
About the Job

As Business Development Manager for Flex Partnerships, you turn charge point operators, DSOs and TSOs into flex‑demand partners. You identify which players have the most to gain from steerable load and you use Deftpower's existing flexibility playbook, cashbacks, off‑peak rewards and OCPI steering, to build the commercial case that gets contracts signed.

Job Responsibilities
  • Map and prioritise partners with the most to gain from a deal
  • Build the commercial case and negotiate the contract that gets them on board
  • Represent Deftpower in industry conversations, from first pitch to signed agreement
  • Share what CPOs and flex buyers actually need with Product, so you keep selling something we can deliver
  • Explore flex buyers (BRPs, aggregators, energy traders) as a next market for aggregated flexibility
  • Manage signed accounts together with Account Management, keeping the partnership on track
About You

You know how to get a contract signed with a technical, commercially cautious counterpart. Not just the pitch, the actual negotiation: pricing structures, milestones, mutual commitments. You combine that with enough energy‑market literacy to speak credibly about grid constraints, dynamic tariffs and demand charges.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, partnerships or commercial negotiation, ideally in energy, e‑mobility or a related regulated market
  • Understanding of energy‑market and regulatory complexity (grid‑operator requirements, balancing markets, BRP relationships) well enough to translate it into a commercial proposition
  • Experience structuring and closing B2B contracts with technical and financially sophisticated counterparts
  • Ability to navigate long, multi‑stakeholder sales cycles without losing momentum
  • Ability to build a business case that balances CPO economics with Deftpower's commercial growth
  • Ability to say no to partners, respectfully and with good reasoning
Join Deftpower!

Here’s what you can expect when you apply at Deftpower: a quick introduction by phone to see if there’s a match on the basics. After that you’ll meet Lucas, Head of Sales. We’ll tell you more about Deftpower, and we’d love to get to know you as a person. After that you’ll work on a short case and show the case in a next interview with one of your new team members. Do you want to join our team? Then we’d love to hear from you!
