Your role

As Brand Data Production Manager, you are the driving force behind Statista’s brand-related data portfolio. You own the brand data Type as a data product, with decision‑making authority over what brand data to produce, develop, maintain, or retire, set priorities and quality bar that guide the teams who build and run the data pipelines.

  • Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of brand data domains- including brand market shares, consumer awareness, brand perception, and loyalty metrics- defining the strategic direction, target users, and value proposition and serving as the central point of contact for what brand data should cover and why.

  • Translate market trends, customer needs and use cases into clear coverage priorities and requirements, turning signals from Revenue, Quality, platform and API usage, customer feedback, and industry developments into a prioritized brand data roadmap.

  • Identify data coverage gaps and define pragmatic solutions evaluating potential data sources, proxy data strategies, and methodology trade‑offs to close critical gaps, weighing relevance against feasibility in collaboration with production teams.

  • Define and track business‑facing KPIs such as coverage of priority brands, data quality, and customer impact; establish and maintain quality gates, data governance standards, and escalation processes across the production pipeline, working with the Quality team to drive continuous improvement.

  • Review and challenge trade‑offs proposed by production and engineering teams (e.g. coverage vs. speed, automation vs. accuracy) from a relevance and customer‑value perspective, while production line owners retain responsibility for how data is produced.

  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Data Engineering, Content, Product, and commercial stakeholders to resolve dependencies and keep priorities aligned across the organization.

Your Profile
  • Strong background in data product management, data operations, market/brand strategy, or business analytics, with the judgment to decide what data matters most and why and a track record of owning and driving a data domain or product area. Degree in a related field and/or equivalent practical experience.

  • Solid understanding of data concepts and statistical reasoning, paired with a strong customer‑focused business mindset and an understanding of how data creates value for users.

  • Comfortable setting direction while depending on others for execution; you lead through clarity, prioritization, and evidence rather than direct control of delivery.

  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, experienced in translating complex business needs into actionable specifications for technical teams and briefing production teams around clear, well‑justified priorities. Clear, confident communicator in English who excels at data storytelling and explains complex topics clearly.

  • A structured, pragmatic, and curious way of working, with an ownership mindset and the ability to stay calm and decisive under pressure.

  • Proficiency in Excel required; SQL and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and project tools (Jira, Confluence) are a plus. Experience with market research or API‑sourced data, Python, or cloud data platforms is an additional advantage.
