Plum Fintech is seeking a Backend Engineer to join our Engineering team and help deliver the best product to our customers. You’ll work closely with Product to bring our mission to life.

This role suits someone who blends pragmatism with product thinking, enjoys solving complex problems, and thrives in a collaborative environment where ideas can be challenged and improvement is continuous.

Qualifikationen

• Experience building modular, scalable, tested systems.

The Team & The Role

We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to join our Engineering team and play a key role in bringing the best product to our customers. You’ll work closely with Product team, bringing your expertise to help us achieve this mission.

This role is perfect for someone who combines pragmatism with strong product thinking, enjoys solving complex problems, and thrives in a collaborative environment where they can challenge ideas, share insights, and continuously improve how we build.

What You Will Do

• Apply a pragmatic approach to solving problems and making decisions
• Plan and prioritize effectively to deliver high-impact work
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying process efficiencies and quality improvements
• Guide and mentor more junior team members
• Share product insights with stakeholders and challenge product decisions when needed
• Collaborate within a cross-functional team and contribute to technical, design, and retrospective discussions
• Work comfortably with both strongly and dynamically typed languages, bringing your programming skills and problem-solving approach to the team regardless of whether Python is your primary language

What We Look For

• Being able to create and design modular, scalable, testable, tested, performant systems which interface via well defined endpoints using software engineering best practices
• Being able to identify root cause of system issues and determine short and long term resolutions
• Adaptability and flexibility, we are building new and novel products and believe that we can provide our users the best products by shipping fast and getting feedback to improve on later iterations
• Able to work and intervene on the whole life cycle of the software

• Tech Stack: Kotlin with Spring Boot & Python with FastAPI
• Datastores: Postgres, BigQuery,
• Infrastructure: GCP (kubernetes, docker), RabbitMQ, Terraform
• Monitoring: Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Incident.io, Sentry

The salary range (annually gross) for this position is:

• 30,000-50,000

We offer a compensation package consisting of base salary and equity, with compensation reviewed twice a year as part of our performance and growth framework.
