Allianz is seeking an AI Engineer to develop and deploy ML and AI solutions on the Data and AI Platform built on Databricks and Foundry, providing guidance and L3 support to development teams.

You will ensure security, compliance, and scalable, cost-efficient platform performance, integrate with Azure cloud resources, data sources and SaaS services, and collaborate with the AI CoE and DevOps.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 3 years of practical experience developing, deploying and managing ML & AI solutions at scale on Databricks.
• Strong understanding of AI and machine learning principles, technologies, tools and processes.
• Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills in English.

• ML & AI solution development: Develop, maintain and enhance templates and building blocks to accelerate ML & AI solutions for platform customers.

In the role of AI Engineer (f/m/d), you will be responsible for developing and implementing ML & AI solutions on the Data and AI Platform at Allianz Global Investors, built on Databricks and Foundry. Your main responsibility will be to support platform customers with all technical aspects concerning ML and AI. You will provide guidance and L3 support to development teams, fostering enablement to the point of self-service. You will further ensure adherence to security and compliance requirements, following a compliance-by-design approach, as well as ML & AI guidelines and best practices.

Additionally, you will conduct periodic reviews and assessments to identify areas for improvement and recommend necessary adjustments. Moreover, you will manage and enhance the platform’s ML & AI capabilities, ensuring its scalability, performance, and security, and integrate new features to support various ML & AI use cases. Both Databricks and Microsoft Foundry are strategic technologies for the platform.

This position will be based in Frankfurt.

What you will do

• ML & AI solution development: Develop, maintain and enhance templates and re-usable building blocks to facilitate the accelerated creation of ML & AI solutions by platform customers
• Support platform customers with all technical aspects of ML & AI Solutions: Integrate, deploy and manage ML & AI models and systems on the platform
• Platform Enhancement: Collaborate with the Data and AI Platform Architect to integrate new ML & AI features and extend the platform's capabilities
• Security and Compliance: Ensure security and compliance of the platform’s ML & AI capabilities and implemented solutions with regulatory requirements and company standards
• Performance & Cost Optimization: Optimize the platform’s ML & AI performance and ensure cost efficiency by implementing suitable ML & AI algorithms and techniques
• Collaboration: Work closely with the AI CoE to exchange on methods and best practices as well as other teams, including DevOps and SecOps, to ensure seamless integration and operation of ML & AI solutions
• Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor the health and performance of the platform’s ML & AI capabilities and address any issues that arise to ensure customer satisfaction
• Integration: Integrate the platform’s ML & AI capabilities with (Azure) cloud resources, external data sources, applications and SaaS services

What you bring

Required

• Minimum 3 years of practical experience developing, deploying and managing ML & AI solutions at scale on Databricks
• Strong general understanding of AI and machine learning principles, technologies, tools and processes
• Expert-level technology skills in Databricks, Azure, Terraform, Spark, Python, SQL, and CI/CD
• Diploma in computer science or a similar field
• Very good understanding of Data Architecture and Data Engineering
• Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills
• Good oral and written communication skills in English
• Ability to efficiently and effectively document and share knowledge and enable others

Preferred

• Working experience in the financial industry, preferably in asset management
• International work experience
• Hands-on exposure to Microsoft Foundry (Azure AI Foundry), or a strong willingness to build expertise in it
• Certification “Databricks Certified Machine Learning Professional”
• Certification “Databricks Certified Generative AI Engineer Associate”
